New Member, New Windjammer 3008W
We bought a 2018 3008W in December last year and have been waiting for spring to arrive so we can use it. The waiting time hasn’t been wasted however, I’ve spent lots of time lurking here and looking for ideas.
Thus far I’ve done the PVC fence post/stinky slinky storage mod, added a Propride hitch, added insulation under the bed to insulate the living space from the storage locker, added a WiFi Ranger Pro because my 2018 didn’t come with a factory installed one, ditched one of the recliners to make room for a computer desk and added fans to the fridge vent.
The computer desk knocks down into three pieces (leg, top and L-shaped piece) and can be removed leaving no trace except for three brass thread inserts under the edge of the overhanging top of the existing base cabinet that houses the control panel computer.
Once we finish packing and I sanitize the water system we will be ready to go!

Great mods and congrats on the jammer. We've got a 3006 on order from the factory If the boneheads can figure out that a KING BED will actually fit in a KING BED slide on that model as it says in every brochure, on the website and the option sheet I filled out. We put $10k down at the dealer I ordered from. Nothing but confusion coming from Millersburg and it's not confidence inspiring as far as the company goes. I hope they can get their act together.

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on your purchase. Your photos show that you do quality work and have benefited from some of the ideas gleaned from this site. Again, welcome.

Welcome to the Vnose group! Your mid look great. I have a few things to do in our 2015WJ but it needs to quit snowing first!

May you enjoy your 3008 as much as we have ours. We have a 2013 version and I think it may be the last trailer we ever get. It has been wonderful and just the right size. Pulls wonderfully, and sets up easily (once you get the compensation down for all the slide outs being on one side). Glad to see that model is still being made. Only question is what did they do with the front window covers? Maybe those windows are stone proof? This year, I'm redoing the kitchen table to be more like the new ones with a flat bottom to the single post. The one we have has legs that make it difficult to get into and out of the table area. Should be a fun project, but, not nearly as ambitious as yours. Enjoy your rig!

Oh, yes, we took out the water filter when the trailer was new. Pain to get at (at least in our model) and way too expensive to change cartridges. Went for a "whole house" model that takes the available everywhere cartridges and one of those little stands to hold it up. Much better, cheaper, and no water mess inside the cabinet when changing the filter. It was straight forward modification of just bypassing the filter head using the "shark bite" connectors. 6th year of the mod and still no leaks - but, if we sell the trailer, the new owner can put it back like it was.

I’ll probably do that too, yes the filter housing presents a large reservoir of water just waiting to get spilled inside. Much better to have it outside. The only thing stopping me is I do wood and electricity better than water and plumbing LOL!

We are a new owner of a 2018 Windjammer, replacing a 2006 Salem, and we park it permanently.we have a whole house water filter and softener, so I will probably bypass the inside filter.

Since we all have the same unit, what is the switch for, located under the cabinet on your left as you enter the trailer? Directly above the swivel rocker.

Two switches? On mine one operates the lights down the center of the living area. The other operates the blue LED light strip under the awning.

Lol, both of those switches that you mention, are on my main panel, just inside the door, to the left, on this same cabinet.

How’d! New to the forum also. We love our 3008. Bought it brand new in 2016. It’s a 2015. Been sitting on the lot for a bit. Does anyone know how to adjust the shower door so it doesn’t drag? The weather stripping wears out then it leaks. At a loss on it.

I am watching this since ours is dragging a little too.

I just pulled that easily damaged weather strip (strip under the door) and tossed it in the rubbish doesnt seem to leak.

We ditched one of our lazy boys as well its far better spacewise. I like the stabilizers on your 2018 model ours a useless Scissor jacks.

Replaced the Corian sink covers today with cutting boards. LOL, it might save a few grams of tongue weight but they look nice and will be more useful than the original sink covers. The edge is milled so they sit flush with the counter top.
I know Oak isn’t the best choice for cutting boards due to its open grain. I’d have preferred maple, but the oak was left over from another project so apart from my time it was a cost free project.
