New old Rockwood TT owner.
Hello campers.
I recently purchased a 1998 Rockwood 2108 TT.
My goodness they hold up well.
Perhaps the fiberglass sides with contemporary graphics, Radius windows and door, along with the aluminum looking style steel wheels keep her looking current.
I cant believe what a dream it is to tow too. I was skeptical about it's listed 2700lb dry weight till I realized (after purchase) it is skinny. not a full 8' wide. I believe it's 7'6". This is fine since I don't even need to add tow mirrors to my F150.
I have not been able to find any info on the web regarding this model so I thought I'd share for others and thought this might be a good place.
I have seen the exact same floor plan and exterior shape from other manufacturers nearing it's year.
As I said it is a 1998 Rockwood 2108.
I have the front Gaucho, rear corner 3/4 bed, corner bath, middle split kitchen floor plan. Not my favorite given the choice but the condition of the unit and the fact that it fit my budget over ruled.
I don't mind telling you all and think it should be said that in this economy they can be found privately for as little as $3500 so there is less excuse to not get one.
Going over under and through her has actually been fun.
A well built unit but not without flaws. I found a few past leaks but no structural damage. Seems they were addressed as they happened. Plumbing leaks were minor and when I realized how cheap fixtures were I changed them all. On a whim I bought a bundle of Pergo style laminate flooring and installed it as far as the bundle allowed. $30 and a days fun later she looks even newer in the kitchen area.
The rest has been replacing latches, hatches, etc..
We've had her out twice and developed quite a list of wants and needs.
Best of all I like seeing her at the end of an afternoon walk all set up in the RV park and she shines and looks as new as the others there.
If anyone has any questions about this model or has owned similar and can offer advice or tips please do.
I will add pics as I get them.
