New to FR products and have a few questions

2 weeks ago we upgraded to a 5er from a 27 foot TT . Dealer said the windows dont need to be sealed because the frame is hidden. It is a used 2018 rockwood signature ultra lite 8288wsa. I have fixed a couple small things already , but very minor things. Does anyone have any comments on this model I should be aware of? We did get a chance to use it once before I winterized it and everything seems to work as it should. Any comments would be appreciated.

Meaning is the warranty transferable

I don't buy the jabber about the windows not needing sealing. They have to be sealed with something to begin with. At 6 months old, I probably wouldn't worry about them yet.

As for the warranty. You're on your own. The factory warranty isn't transferable.

If there was a service contract (aftermarket warranty) it may be transferable. You'll have to read the contract in order to find out.

Indy500, congrats on your new Rockwood!

The factory warranty is not technically transferable but as the 2nd owner of our previous 2010 Roo, the factory helped me out when the bed doors delaminated and had to be replaced. They shipped new door "cores" for free. I appreciated the gesture so much that I bought another Rockwood (my current TT) when I sold the Roo.

You said yours is a 2018 model. It must have been built early in the 2018 model year because the front cap style is the same as a 2017. Rockwood tends to make their major style and feature changes in the middle a of model year. Don't know why but they tend to do it that way. My current TT is a 2011 model but the floorplan is not in the 2011 brochure I downloaded. I know its a 2011 though because it definitely has the 2011 model year fabrics in it.

About the windows:
I had a previous Roo for 18 months and the current one is 12 months old, both with frameless windows.
No sealing was required on them but I learned that at least once a year, it is good to treat the rubber with 303.
They remain closed most of the time and during hot/cold cycles so if you don't treat them, they will glue to the window....

The non-transferable warranty game is a sham. Like automobiles, it should run with the vehicle not the ownership. I always try to be honorable in dealing with manufacturers, but if they want to play that game I would have no problem assuming the identity of the previous owner in the case of a major problem within the original warranty period.

Thanks bluebell, but I didn't purchase it from the original owner. I picked it up at a stealer, op,s I mean dealer.

I can’t believe you’d suggest someone commit fraud! When I bought my two trailers used I knew full well the warranty was not transferable. I asked Rockwood if they could do anything as a goodwill gesture and they generously agreed to help. If having a manufacturer’s warranty is important to you, you’ll have to buy a new unit.
