Angry Omgosh!

Is it normal for dealers to take parts from other rigs as parts for purchased rigs sold?
I have to return my 5th wheel I have had for 4 days, refrigerator does not work on A.C. and in troubleshooting in the back looks like someone has been part purchasing from it things are apart but not put together.
Plus back vent leaks, puddle on back floor last night and front power fan has a burnt out board which is on order.
I’m actually at a loss for words, is this a normal process for parts and where is quality in these spendy rigs:

It does happen quite a bit.
Wasn't the fridge on during the PDI/walkthrough?
Your list of issues is quite small, compared to most.
There are literally thousands of threads about quality issues. That's why making sure everything works during the walkthrough is so important.
I made sure my dealer had everything hooked up, including water and propane.

It allows them to get someone on the road without having to wait for parts to be ordered. That being said, they should have known they stole a part and either replaced it before they sold it to you or "stolen" another part from another rig to get yours on the road.

But I'm guessing they don't track it very well (obviously!).

I wouldn't use the phrase 'normal' but rather an evil necessary sometimes for them to 'borrow' parts.

If they have a customer on the hook or ready to pick up their unit and happen to come across something that borrowing the part from another unit helps them seal the deal or get that customer out the door, then yes... it happens.

Should your dealer have done a better job of keeping track of the borrowed parts and making it right on your unit?... Yes they should have. I also have to wonder why this wouldn't have been caught during YOUR PDI/Customer Orientation? Shame on them.

As said, sounds like a few minor things. You are likely going to find a few other items needing attention that had nothing to do with "borrowing" so be prepared.

Get them repaired and start enjoying your new unit!

In my experience it is completely normal!

When buying my new 5er my wife didnt like the table in ours (it had a little wobble) they grabbed one out of another unit. I didnt like the soundbar and remote in ours, they grabbed one out of anther unit. Also, found a minor issue with a fantastic fan controller, they grabbed one out of a different unit. We also were missing our 50amp cable (Im guessing someone borrowed ours), so they grabbed that from the parts store.

I checked everything over during the PDI and those were the issues I found, it happens when they are making a sale. I do agree if they are creating holes in other units by borrowing they should track it and replace it.

Not just RV's. When we had our 2008 Ram 2500 that we special ordered, the dealership took parts off brand new trucks on the lot to get ours going again. Probably felt sorry for us given it was in the shop 42 times in the 1st 25 months we owned it.
