We were lucky to witness our actual trailer being made in Millersburg, IN. They are happy to give you tour of the factory and it is a hands on experience. Well worth the time to do. Free too.

We have had a few issues that the dealer has been happy to remedy and all are covered by the warrantees. Be sure to purchase the extended warrantee direct from Forest River for $150. It gets you a second year and well worth the price.

We pull with a Ford Expedition and the Equalizer hitch and it is a great package.

You will enjoy your trailer as it is fantastic!!! Safe travels!!!
If you don't mind me asking what were the few issues that need to be taken care of...I've got a bunch of pdi sheets to bring with me, just curious the type of stuff people typically find that need to be addressed...thanks

These PDI sheets, are they something a user comes up with or is there a place to download forms of certain things to check?

Hey Bonniebp,

The issues we have became apparent after a two month trip. They are listed below.

1. Ceiling and exterior speakers do not seem to be wired correctly. At each of the three settings the sound plays outside which I do not believe should happen.

2. The bathroomdoor still does not close without catching at the bottom.

3. Tankheaters do not seem to be working but not sure how to verify unless it iscold enough.

4. The Fresh and Grey tank heaters are not sticking well to the tanks. Gorilla tape is not a good fix.

5. Shore power line is supposed to have little blue lights at each end and the one at the TT does not illuminate. Also the power cover on the TT is supposed to have a blue light and it does not illuminate.

6. We have had leaks in two windows and one storage area. The side slide window (now covered in plastic is the worst as when it rains, it pours inside at the bottom of the window. The twin slide windows on the outside had a leak under the right closure twist handle. The horizontal slide storage cabinet with white duct tape had a leak in the middle top of the opening.

7. The right front TT tire has never had a green nitrogen cover for the tire valve. Can this be supplied?

8. Retractingthe slide on three occasions in the last couple months we blew a 30 Amp fuse located under the TT, not part of the fuse box. Why is this happening and can it be fixed. I noticed the underside of the slide floor is scratched up by what looks like a screw or other sharp object possibly trapped under the floor. Could this be causing additional friction causing the retracting motor to overheat?

9. The slidedoes not appear to go all the way out on the left/rear side if aligned to the floor tiling. Is this misalignment possibly causing the motor to work harder thereby causing the fuse to blow?

10. We have noticed that every time we travel when it is raining we have a very wet floor inside the TT. Are the gaskets sealing correctly when the slide is closed???

11. When we have no shore power plugged in, we have no power in the trailer. We do however have power at the front powerjack. A dealer in Eaton Rapids, MI thought it might be a dead inverter. If we have shore power plugged in, however, all seems fine including 12v lights.

12. We have not been able to use our water pump when dry camping. Again the dealer in Eaton Rapids thought the valve near the water heater was installed backwards so the check valve prevents water from being pulled from the fresh water tank. The pump runs, but no water flows. Also, it would not suck in antifreeze to re-winterize for the same reason, according to the dealer.

13. The battery box was apparently not installed properly so a second box cannot be installed; not enough room. Please move the current one over and install our second box.

Wow, thanks for the list...seems quite a few of these would be tuff to figure out until your actually camping in the unit. The water leaks worry me, and my dealer is about 3.5 hours. No local dealer, so warranty work on leaks and such if they happen will be a pain in the rear...but not the end of the world

If you do a google search for "pdi travel trailer" you'll get a bunch of options to look at, can print one and take with you, or modify a few and make your own.

Go to top of the forum page. Find the menu item in the green line that says "Library." Click on it. In the list of subjects that you'll then see, pick the one "Miscellaneous Documents." In there you'll find a PDI checklist you can download. It's for a hybrid, but should cover most stuff.
