Oyster vs White

Most dealers stock oyster color on Rockwoods and Flagstaffs, but I've always favored white. Anyone think Oyster is nice color or is it a passing fad? Thx in advance.

I agree with white. They keep changing the shade of what I call brown to lighter shades. White has been around forever. Just a sales technique. I factory ordered a 2017 White 8325SS. I like white..

Personally I prefer white

Everybody has a favorite, mine happens to be white. Just ordered a white 2304DS this past fall. My friend just purchased the same trailer in oyster... Go figure. Both are nice.

I'm kinda fond of the oyster/beige/champagne/whatever. White is nice too, but this seems just a bit more stylish. Of course, 5-6 years from now, that color may look dated (think of all the beige motorhomes from the 90's) and white will always be in style... But for now I like it.

Having the Emerald pkg( oyster color) got the alloy wheel which makes greasing the ez lube hubs a little more difficult. The covers on the roof are all in black, which absorb and radiate solar heat in the summer through all the vents and increasing the heat load on the AC and refer. Got the frameless tinted glass which has been OK so far, but they don't open much more than 4" tilted all the way out. The corian countertops are nice but would have been nicer to see it extend to bathroom vanities for as many square feet of counter there is. Looks nice and wasn't a great deal extra $, but if I were to do over, I'd take vanilla and if you need to recaulk or repair in places you'll probably want to look for the almond/beige to match

Now that I have had white and now have the Diamond package(Champagne color) I would go back to the white as reflects heat better. You have to have two ACs to keep up with the color I have now. On my other V-light I only had the one 15000 AC. Kept up pretty good here in the south. Later RJD

If I had it to do again, I'd go with the white......easier to maintain. If it fades, you can't really tell (and I wouldn't be on the way to Topeka in June to have front and rear caps replaced). Cooler in the summer, save a bit of wear and tear on the A/C's as well....

I think manufacturers are realizing the darker exteriors are a mistake....they seem to be going away from the darker colour to what you now call oyster....thats quite a bit lighter than the models from 13,14,15...and yes the warped noses have been an issue for them.

The Emerald package is now included in 2017 MicroLite models, so alloy rims and frameless windows are included with white exteriors. Just FYI

Having been RVing for 3 decades we have had many white trailers. To me the colour looks dated due to having had the white ones many years ago. Now we ordered our 2017 2507S mini lite in Oyster as it won't look dirty as quickly. That's one of our rationales for getting that colour and as we plan to mostly use it up in Ontario, heat is not an issue and for the rare times it is we'll be ok. We ordered the 15K BTU a/c.

We looked at both when we bought our new Ultra V 2618VS and settled on the oyster finish w/ the emerald package. IMO it looks classier.

Time will tell,Lots of "White Trim pieces turn "Yellow/Beige/Off white/Oyster" after Mr Sun hits them for a while! Real Standouts are "Stove Vent Cover/Porch LightCover/Refer Vent Doors/Window & Door Trim",to just name a few! These can be brought back to Life with Krylon White Paint, time will tell if Mr Sun will treat all the "Other Colors" the same, and if Krylon will have "Colors to Match"! I am a White lover,Forest River Flagstaff Division is one of the Leaders in using "Tasteful Graphics" on their White RVs to "Artfully" bring Color without "Over the Top"! Some RVs look like they have been Parked in a Rail Road Yard to long! Youroo!!

Does anyone have a photo showing a 2017 MicroLite 25KS in white? We are ready to make our new purchase and prefer white but no one has any photos as most are built with Oyster color. Even Forest River doesn't have any except the small examples in their brochure. It is hard to viualize in real life. Thanks for your help everyone.

I also prefer white but I usually buy used so I can't be too picky. White plastic like the stove vent tends to turn yellowish and black plastic will tend to fade. Plastic pieces on the exterior can be painted or replaced pretty easily and cheaply. Before I sold my Roo privately, I replaced the stove vent and front light near the jack just to make it look more attractive to the buyer. Didn't cost much for the parts.
