Pee-uuu

Only one problem appeared on our first trip with the 2604WS- sewer odor from the toilet area. It's not coming from the bowl and it's not real strong but it's there. With a sealed underbelly, what's to be done?

Were u using the power vent in the bathroom?

If you use the power vent it'll suck the fumes from the tank when u open toilet valve.

Search "geo method" also.

Can you tell where the odor is coming from more precisely? There have been instances on some new trailers were the black tank vent pipe that goes to the roof of the trailer is plugged/capped. I'd check this to make sure it's open. (But only if you are physically able to access your roof safely)

You can also get an odor from your grey water tank too, depending on how old the water and just what else may have been drained into it. If you haven't run water into all your sink traps, then odor can also come back from the grey water tank out of the sinks too.

You need to keep some water in your toilet bowl as this forms a seal too.

Ditto what Turbo said. If you make the mistake of flushing the toilet while running the power vent, it can suck a nasty smell into your camper. You'll need to keep running the vent, and open an outside window/door to hopefully get it out.

Yes, it is coming from behind the toilet. Not the bowl. I put a peppermint smelling cleaner in the bowl and filled it two-thirds full, cut the fan on to clear the air, shut the fan off and the odor returned. It grows worse as the outside temp rises.

Checked them all. Not grey water. This is a sewer smell. Smells the same as when I dumped the black tank later in the week.

There have also been instances where the Vent Pipe came loose from the holding tank. Normally NOT an easy thing to fix on many RVs.

Toilet seal to floor coupling not installed right or not even there?

Or vent stack came out of the top of the tank.

Same problem with new trailer first time out

Sorry to hear you had the same problem with your toilet. It wasn't the vent or the fan for us either. We took it back to the dealer after our first trip (came back from vacation a couple of days early because of smell). They took the toilet off and checked seals, etc., and somehow there was sewage in an open cavity in the back of the toilet. We are not even sure how it is possible for anything to get back in that area but there it was - the cause of the horrific smell. They had no idea either how sewage had ended up in that area and we haven't dewinterized and used the toilet yet so guess we will see shortly when we go camping again. We definitely feel (and smell) your pain! Please let us know if that is the same problem you have because maybe there is a defect in the toilet. The dealer recorded the problem since our trailer is new and the toilet is still under warranty if we need to have it replaced.

Wow! That is weird. Our odor isn't all that strong, so I'm hoping the cure won't be as drastic.

OK, Turbs, here comes a curveball. Camp for two days, everything is ok. Time-to-time, a brief whiff of something, but not very noticeable. Third night out, I get up at 3 a.m. and the bath stinks. I cut the fan on, cleared it out, cut the fan off, went back to bed. Get up a 7 a.m., go into the bath - nothing. No smell.
I'm thinking that if the problem is intermittent, it must be influenced by some external force such as temperature, wind, fan usage. (We have a second fan in the living area.) We did not use the A/C this trip.

Curve ball indeed.
Now I've seen this happen before , may or may not be related.
the route to a friends cg was quite bumpy and twisty hilly roads.
He called me complaining of a foul odor in the bathroom.
I asked him the same questions.

I then asked him to kneel down by the shower drain and see if there was an odor there he politely put the phone down as he gagged.
The bouncy curvy roads had allowed the water to run out of the p trap in the shower.
Once he filled the trap back up the odor there as gone.

This may not be the case for you but just an fyi ...
Btw the odor was intermittent but completely gone after filling p trap.
They also didn't use shower much as they used the cg showers.

I'm still wondering if your black tank stink pipe isn't disconnected .

Do you use your shower? Traveling can slosh the water out of the traps and the fan can suck that gray water "sewage" smell into the camper.
