I just bought a 2017 8280, and then bought the truck to tow it! The truck is a 2017 Ram 2500 4x4 with a bed height of 36". I was concerned about towing nose high. While the trailer was being stored at the dealer, I asked the sales guy to measure the ground to plate distance and he said 47". I assumed I'd have to do the Dexter lift.
Called the FR rep at the factory and he said the design drawings had the plate at 49.9". Breathed a sigh of relief. Installed the Curt A16 hitch with Ram OEM 5th wheel prep and the height was right at 15" for a tow height of 51".
Picked up the trailer last week and hooked up the trailer and on a level surface, it was 0.8 deg nose up. Almost level!!!!!
While unhooked on level concreted and the trailer was perfectly level (I have a digital level that will read to .01deg) and the plate height on the trailer was 49.7", almost exactly what the design drawing says.
Bottom line is that I was sweating a lot for nothing! It all worked out in the end. But for about a week I had already researched the Dexter lift kit and priced it out, assuming I'd be doing it.

Then I started hearing about pin heights of 49-50". Adding the lift in that case would leave me towing nose-down by 2-3", which would stress my front axle/tires. So, for now, I've cancelled the lift kit order until I can get to the trailer and take some careful measurements with it sitting level: pin height and ground clearance at the rear stabilizers (the low point). I may have to choose between risking dragging my stabilizers and living with the nose down by 3".
Was hoping someone knew offhand what the pin height was with a Revolution so I didn't have to run out to the dealer.
