Plastic toilet seat replacement

I have a 2018 Rockwood miniLite 2509 S! I was just wondering if anyone out there knows of a place to get replacement seat for the OEM seat on my TT! The design and the cheapness of it leaves a lot to be desired!! Any and all help would be appreciated and thank you very much n advance!!! If it's a model 300 like mine, don't expect to find anything else to fit. You may have to upgrade to a 320, which takes standard residential style seats.

Someone here posted that he took some 3/8" or 1/2" rubber tubing (like vacuum hose) and cut pieces as long as the ribs under the seat. He then slit the tubing and put it over the ribs. Said it made a world of difference. I've considered it, but haven't gotten around to trying it yet.

I'll see if I can find the thread.

UPDATE: See post #7:

I tried the strips of tubing on ours. It did help a small amount. But, not worth the time or effort.

We ordered and installed a 320. Now that is a dream. Adds 20 pounds to the trailer, but so much nicer.

They say the 310 is better than the 300. Not sure how much it helps, but the 320 is just like the throne in a regular house. It is a little bigger in bowl and seat area, so it takes a little more room. Base is same size and the change out is a breeze.

There is a wooden seat for the Dometic 310 (google 310 toilet wooden seat). An off the shelf will not have the integral rear flange to cover the valve assembly. The 320 comes with wood, I believe. No clue with others.

IIRC, the 320 needs a couple extra inches in the rear. They show the dimensions of all their toilets on their website.

By the way, I have a slightly used 300 in my back yard now that my DW thinks should go. I think it's a nice conversation piece. Put it next to my wood pile. Cheap if someone wants it. LOL

Plant some bulbs in it now and when they come up its time to go camping again!

Maybe then she will like it more as well.

I replaced our shower head and hose with something better and then cut up the old hose and covered those ribs on the bottom of the seat. The hose is a very good color match and really quiets things down. But I'll be upgrading to the 310 or 320 at some point. We have the 2109s so I can understand Rockwood putting this plastic toilet in our small trailer. But i see the very same thing in their much larger trailers and 5th wheels. If i paid $50k for a trailer i think I'd be pretty disappointed in this junk toilet. It does flush nice though.

I have to agree and it sounds like a good idea! I would’ve rather paid a little more upfront though and had a situation right from the start!!!

It's all about ultra lite now. If I recall correctly a 300 weighs 8 lbs, 310 20 lbs and 320 28 lbs.

I will try this in the spring since I also swapped the hose and head.

Didn't you tell her that when you have a spare toilet like that, you're EXPECTED to put flowers in it and move it to the FRONT yard? The neighbors are missing out!

Is the base of the 320 plastic as well?
