Pleated window shades vs. Night roller shades

Hello!

My wife and I are wanting to order a 2021 Rockwood 2509s (yes, we've been told at least 10-12 week delivery time).

Our last Jayco had black pleated window shades which made daytime light to virtual midnight inside. My wife enjoys sleeping in and daytime naps, so a dark interior is important.

The 2509s comes with an off-white pleated shade, which offers almost no light-blocking. So my question is, when ordering the Night Roller Shade option, does that somehow get installed in addition to the Pleated shades...or do the roller shades REPLACE the stock pleated shades?

Also, do the stock pleated shades have any kind of waterproofing on them? There IS the DIY option to remove the pleated shades and spray upholstery dye on them, which then becomes permanent, however the dye will not work on any fabric that has been treated for water resistance. Has anyone tried to dye their pleated shades?

Thanks in advance!

The night roller shades replace the pleated shades, are not in addition to the pleated shades. Have not used the camper yet so can't share an opinion as to how much the roller shades darken the window.

[QUOTE=Pyroguy;2542904]Hello!

My wife and I are wanting to order a 2021 Rockwood 2509s (yes, we've been told at least 10-12 week delivery time).

Sorry to say, the wait time is now 5 to 6 months. I ordered mine in late January and am now being told delivery will be at least early July.

Excellent! I think we still prefer the pleated shades, but your photo leaves no doubt about things.

Thanks for the photo and sharing!

Hate to hear this, but not surprising.
Maybe the supply chains will start being corrected during the summer and materials won't be so scarce.
Thanks for the time update.

From your perspective, at this point should my wife and I just accept there is probably no realistic chance to use it this year, and wait to order in December for delivery Spring of 2022? We are concerned about the early June price increases adding a few thousand to the price.

So does that mean you will get a 2022 model? Talked to Rockwood asking when the 2022 models come out and he said July. Just wondering, thanks

I ordered a Rockwood 2511s on Feb 9. They are telling me now early to mid-June and they will have an update for me in about 10 days

Not sure. The timing is so close it's possible, but the dealer didn't mention it. I will ask next time I try to get a status update in a couple more weeks.

Not likely. What is happening is manufacturers are building units with the parts they have and stockpiling them on their lots until parts come in and then completing the build later.
