Range igniter

The gas range igniter quit working, changed the AA battery but still nothing. Looks like all the wires are attached. Anyone else had this problem?

Maybe totally different but our range has the snap push button igniter. It stopped working so I went online and got another from Ebay. Turned out mine was OK but the wires apparently were not heat resistant and they had developed several cracks. This allowed the spark to escape out the cracked insulation and go to ground rather than sparking at the burner.
I replaced the wires and it's been fine the last 2 years.
Check your wires carefully and if they are OK look on Ebay for a replacement igniter. They aren't all that expensive.

these work extremely well as replacements and are even portable enough to take outside for the campfire or BBQ... they even get high ratings from amazon

The wires look good, there is no spark at all.

Do the stove top igniters spark when you push the button?

If so, make sure that the electrode on the igniter is within about 1/4" of the pilot and that it hasn't slid forward in the mounting bracket. I had to pinch the two hoops on our bracket together some to keep it from moving.

mine was DOA when we did the PDI. Dealer replaced it. Speak with your dealer or the manufacturer of the stove about a replacement. By chance, is yours a Suburban 3 burner with oven?

Yes it's the 3 burner. I spoke to the dealer and of course they want me to bring it in. I don't think it's worth the trouble of hauling in 45 minutes away, especially during this time of virus risk. I' m going to try calling the manufacturer on Monday. If that doesn't work I'm thinking of ordering a generic igniter form amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...379VB228&psc=1

Stupid question, maybe.. Did you put the battery in correctly? I replaced the ignition battery on my Weber grill and put it in backwards...

Small difference but...
The gap is designed to be 3/16" on all gas lighting electrodes in the RV.

tried multiple batteries, tried flipping just in case. I think it's dead. Didn't last long, this is a 2020 trailer. I wonder if the more primitive igniter with the knob you turn would be more reliable.

Try this.. there will be 3 wires coming from the igniter going to each of the 3 burners. They should just unplug if you tug on them. Remove them 1 at a time to ensure 1 of them is not compromised and shorting to ground. They are laying along the bottom of your stove top so if there was a rub through on one or other defect it will short out all of them. Worth a shot..

Also, pay attention to battery install direction.

Yes, small difference but you wouldn’t expect all of them to all of a sudden be gapped to far away...
