recommendation for 2 x 100ah lithium batteries

Hi,

Any know which lithium batteries is good for to replace my 2 x 12v batteries the dealer installed. Seem like one dry camping the batteries when to 25% which is not good. We didn' thave sunlight until 2pm. So I guess the solar factor into this. I was looking at the costco lion battery that was on sale but it is over. Battlebon is over priced. SOK or SAK lightium is sold out on their website. Any other recommendation or should I just wait till they have it in stock?>

thank you

You can use the Afirm program on Battle born site to spread the payments over time. You might even get qualified at 0% it eases the all at once payment
Just a thought

I guess I can do that.. battle born is the best lithium batteries second to Lion. I'm still aiming at getting Lion for the on sale price starting on 5-14 at costco..

Give them a call. They are very responsive and will tell you when they will have stock. I had to wait like 2 weeks when I ordered mine.

Battleborn guarantees their batteries for 10 years... I have them, they do exactly as they said and they are worth the price.

We had Battleborn on our previous rig. I plan on installing 2X on the current trailer as soon as the snow starts thawing. The Battleborn folks provide excellent support for their product - worth every penny. 50% of our excursions are boondocking. Two 100 AHs has taken us out as long as 6 days without even firing up the generator - and we enjoy all our electrical comforts!!

When I bought my first Lithium batteries my wife had to get the defibrillator out to get my heart started when I saw the bill. Now when I buy a new camper I just add $2K to the bottom line, doesn't seem to hurt as much.

Everything has a price and good things usually cost more. In time the cheaper batteries will probably reveal their true worth.

With LiFePo4 batteries the most vulnerable item is thr BMS and good ones are often much more expensive.

Another option that would be lower cost - I installed a single 125AH lithium battery, Ionic battery, in my E Pro 19FD and added a second solar 100W panel. We very seldom have shore power when travelling / camping and I have never been lower than 80% on charge. On full sun battery is back to 100% before noon, partial sun by mid-afternoon. A second panel is an easy add, as it does not require changing the controller, simply using y connectors - all on the roof, no change inside the trailer. I did a post on the parts and panel I used. Also the battery has blue tooth monitor build in, works excellent and avoids needed a battery monitor.
Also, I have yet to be in a situation where we had 3 days + of overcast sky/rain, so not sure how many days we would last with total sun blockage... That is the only case where two 100 ah batteries would be better... I can't imagine having 4 days of rain...

Myself I would increase the number of solar panels . Your present panels could not keep your batteries charged , how will more batteries help . How many watts on your roof ?

Lithium batteries are all basically the same, it is the Battery Management System that puts real value into a battery combined with tech support and enforceable warranties.

From what I understand, BB meets all those criteria. The others may or may not, especially the cheaper Chineese batteries. I have reviewed many reviews and testing of off brand batteries and in many or even most, the BMSs are junky.

If you buy the cheaper models, read the specs carefully. Many don't have low temp charging built into their BMSs. one cold day under 32 degrees and you will do permanent damage to your battery if you don't have low temp protection.

Even LION batteries were found to be significantly under their own specs on AH claims a few years ago. Hopefully they have fixed the problem by now.

It absolutely baffles me when I see manufacturers send their batteries to Will Prowse for testing and the battery fails miserably. You would think that they would pre-test the battery they send and verify that it will meet specs before sending it to be tested on an international forum, but they don't.
