Removing WiFi Ranger on Ultra Lite 2608BS

I'm looking to upgrade to a Pepwave router in my 2608BS. I've never went looking for the WiFi Ranger router or for the access through the roof. By where the ranger is located on the roof, I'm assuming the router and access may be behind the microwave ????

Can anyone help with guidance please? I'm wondering;

Best way to remove the sealant around the WiFi Ranger?
Where the access to the WiFi Ranger is on the interior of the unit?
Is the router behind the microwave?
Or anything else I'm not thinking of that can help with this project?

Thanks all

Moved thread to the Rockwood sub-forum since the OP is asking for model-specific information.

I'm fairly sure your "WiFi Ranger" Router and associated hardware is located under the antennae on the roof on the PC board..
Like you when I redo my roof the Ranger will be gone, hole filled, and the POS forgotten.

Here’s a video related to what is probably your model of WiFi Ranger. The entire video is good to show you how to seal around the MaxxAir fan unit and the WiFi Ranger unit. It starts to look at the WiFi Ranger just before 5:00 and it shows how the PCB is located up on the roof and how the wires go up through the roof behind the microwave.

Great video thanks for sharing that.

Can the WiFi ranger antenna be re-purposed? Like most others, I have no use for the WiFi Ranger hardware, but wondering if there are other wireless routers or cell boosters like a WeBoost that can take advantage of what's already installed?

I would have to say, no. All the hardware is in the box on the roof and would be proprietary. Perhaps the only thing you might be able to use is the wire routing. The WiFi Ranger needs a 12 VDC feed to run the hardware in the box on the roof so there should be a 12 VDC line going up through the roof where the hardware is mounted.

My 5th wheel has the old Sky 3 hardware and it’s mounted on the roof above the hallway outside the bathroom on the upper level. It’s located beside the TV antenna so I assume my Sky 3 gets it’s power from a line spliced into the power line to the TV antenna.

Resetting WiFi Ranger

You guys seem knowledgeable. My dad has this system and I’m trying to figure out how to factory reset it. He bought the RV used and it’s still setup with the previous owners settings so he can’t use it. Any advice? Do I have to take the antenna a part on the roof?

I've had good results dealing with WiFiRanger support. Here is a link on how to reset the devices.
https://wifiranger.com/wp-content/up...t-Guide_v2.pdf

The Guide is generic. Not sure how many equipment generations are covered.

If you still have questions then just contact WiFiRanger support.
