Replacement for Wifi Ranger

I discovered this while troubleshooting my Wifi Ranger 3 on my 2018 TT! No seal on the plastic housing. Any recommendations for a replacement booster/router?

I disliked the WIFI Ranger from the beginning.
When I do my roof maintenance the next time I'll cover the hole and forget it was ever there.
As for your question, we use a Jetpack and Hotspot our phones. As long as you are not a "data hog" it all works fine. We are on the road 6 - 7 months a year.

Lousy Customer Service

I to have the same problem, repeated emails to the Ranger group asking them to recommend a replacement device, they no longer offer the model we have, have gone unanswered. I, like cboss, will be removing the case and sealing the hole up. Liked the idea of one connection for all our devices then updating the Ranger once and done. Now using a hotspot and if we every camp somewhere with a public WiFi, I'll deal with it then.

Depending on your budget, if you want/need mobile internet and if you use your RV a lot, you could look at Mobile Must Have for a complete mobile internet system including an exterior antenna that would be mounted where the WiFi Ranger unit was removed.

BTW, if you do decide to remove the WiFiRanger Sky3 unit on the roof, the only wiring to it is a DC power cable. The router part is in the same outdoor case with the antenna. (The OEM versions are built that way but I think the aftermarket versions have a separate indoor router.)

On my fifth wheel, the OEM Sky3 unit is located on the roof above the hallway to the bedroom so if I were to remove it I would just seal the roof penetrations (mounting screws and the DC wire) with Eternabond tape. If I wanted an external cellular external antenna I would install it in a different location where I could hide the antenna cable coming up from the inside router.

WiFi at campgrounds is notoriously poor and not secure so a lot of people just use a cell phone as a hotspot or buy a mifi device and maybe an indoor Netgear MIMO antenna. The external antenna works best to connect to cell towers but it obviously involves a roof penetration.
