Revolution Pin Box on 8265WS

My 2013 8265WS has the new Revolution pin box, and have never felt the need to use it in the 2 trips I have made, ha ha!! But I have read here that by using it, the clunking from stopping & starting is reduced greatly, if not completely. So when the snow melts and it's time to head out for the first weekend get-away, I will try the Revolution set up.
My questions are regarding the teflon plate on the pin. Does / will it affect the hook up? Does it have to be removed when using the revolution?

Yes, remove the teflon plate. It serves no purpose when the reese revolution is set up.

I don't have the revolution, but when I first got my hitch it never made a cluck when I started or stopped. I then had to remove my hitch to haul something in the back of my truck. I then put the hitch back in and now it clunks when I start and stop. Then only thing that I can think is the little rubber spacers that were on base that the locking pins go through. The kept preventing me from putting the pins in so I left them out. In the spring I will try to out it back in with those rubber spacers and see if the clunking stops.
