Rockwood 2508

So I've searched the hell out of these fourms and haven't come across a lot said about the Rockwood 2508. It's my understanding that this floorplan was released in maybe 2018 model. My wife and I just purchased a 2019 Rockwood 2508 from Out-of-Doors Mart in Colfax, NC (can't say enough good things about this place.. recommend to the fullest extent).

I'm towing with a 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 and 2016 VW Touareg. Towed from Colfax to Wilmington, NC and had no problems.

We are coming up on our first camping trip with the 2508 and sure I'll have some questions after that and would like a good solid place for us 2508 owners to reside. We will be going to a frequent place I visited as a kid.. Lakewood Campground in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Side Note:. Will be installing the Furrion Observation camera system tomorrow. Click image for larger version

Nice Rig That 2508

We presently have a 2014 Rockwood Mini Lite 2306 and have been looking at upgrading to the 2508 due to the fact we do not like slide outs. Keep us posted on how it works for you. We were a little concerned about the size of the bathroom but hey, it is biggerg than the 2306 we now own. Just wish a shower was an option, and you could delete the outdoor kitchen and convert to storage.
Safe Travels.

I have a new 2019 2507S. I believe that's basically the same as yours except mine does not have bunk beds and, instead, the bathroom is across the entire back end. Also, mine still has the 2-burner cook top and sink in the outdoor kitchen rather than the new grille (I think I prefer the 2-burner jobby myself). Anyways, love it overall. We looked and looked, at several different models and manufacturers and once we came across the 2507S, it became the standard to compare others to. And, in the end, that's what we bought. I tow with a F-150 super crew eco-boost and, so far, it does great. I did add front performance brake rotors to the truck (that needed to be done anyway due to warped OEM rotors) and also added air bags and just today put on new LT (versus P) tires. My hitch setup is the standard older model (from my previous 1995 TT) eaz-lift WDH and anti-sway and it, too, seems to do the job. I typically don't go over 60mph when towing. Anyhow, you'll love the TT.

We bought our Rockwood 2508 a couple weeks ago and have been doing some backyard camping since. We are loving the camper and my kids are absolutely crazy about it.

I believe Rockwood updated the model number from 2306 —> 2508 for 2018. Also the flagstaff 25lb is pretty much the same model.

Jealous that you get to take it out already as mine will be going into storage very soon for winter.

Per the Rockwood Mini Lite website, they are still making both a 2306 and a 2508.

They wouldn't have just updated the model number in any case, as the 23XX's are 23'-9" TT's and the 25XX's are 25'-9" TT's; i.e., two totally different trailers.

Congrats, we just picked up our 19 2508 a few weeks ago, big change from our class A, but after a few tailgating trips, we really like it. Search through a few threads on here, lots of really good mods.... my wife is starting to get mad that I’ve spent more in the last few weeks on things from amazon then we did on the camper

Sweet!!!! Question for a fellow 2508'er and anyone with double bunks. What size sheets or brand do you go with for a great fit?

Congratulations xtrandrix and casflynn! Those are some nice looking rigs. We bought our 2018 2506S in nov of last year and really like it. Some relatives of ours just purchased a 2019 2506S. I do like some of the upgrades, especially the interior. What I don't understand is why did Rockwood take the sink out of the outdoor kitchen for 2019?

xtrandrix, I don't have a 2508, but i just bought my 2608BS from Out of Doors Mart! I agree with you that you can't say enough about that dealer.

Also, I purchased the Furrion rear view camera also and it works great! Best investment you can make! I guess that was my first mod!

Have a great first trip!

We went the sleeping bag route for the kiddos (2 and 5)helps my wife’s fear of them falling out.

For you guys with the furrion camera, what do you think of the monitor size and how well does it work at speed. I ordered a tadibrothers set up with the clip on mirror monitor, liked the camera, but the screen was too small and had massive glare, sent it back, on to plan b.... I like the “new” furrion s with the bigger 5 or 7 screen, but don’t like the price, maybe see if the come down in price in the spring

My Furrion camera has the 4.3" screen, and, frankly, works just fine for me. The audio on mine works, but has a fair amount of static but I'm wondering (and won't know until it's fixed) if that's from the center rear clearance light being bad....it flickers rapidly and is only on at about 1/4 brightness. Since the camera gets it's power from the clearance light, I'm guessing that's the problem. Anyway, what you'll really like is the simple plug and play installation of the Furrion system. Mine works great at speed and, so far, I've noticed no cutting out of the picture.

We use full size sheets on the bunks of our 2509s. They fit ok, about the best you can do for a camper bed since the sizes aren't the same..

The addition of the Furrion observation camera was a game changer for me. It's so easy now to see what's going on behind you, whether on the road or at a campsite. I'd never be without one now! Never had problems with picture quality either. We have the 4.3" screen and its fine. Bigger screen just takes up more space.

Congrats on the new camper btw!! We love our mini lite. Sure you will too.

This sums it up for my experience with the Furrion camera as well. Great addition!

First trip was a success. The thing we used the most was this "trash-ease" that we conveniently had on the table that we put outside the camper. At first I didn't think having the table able to move outside was a big deal but I'm glad it's that way after much use outside.

On a side note... electric hot water heater never seemed to do the trick. We had to turn on the gas water heater and it worked just fine. Wondering if this is "normal" or mine is just having issues.

The Sky4 wifi extender worked beautifully! Click image for larger version

Did you have the switch on the heater turned on both at the panel and the tank? Jay

Gas worked fine it was the electric hot water heater switch that didn't seem to do anything.

On our 2504s there are 2 switches. One on the panel, one on the outside of the heater accessible when the outside door of the water heater is opened. It’s in the lower left corner partially hidden. That is what I was asking about. Both have to be turned on for the heater to work on electric. Sorry if I caused any confusion. Jay
