Rockwood 5er model 2882S or 2881S
Anyone have or at least seen through one of those Rockwood fifth wheels? We don't see any near us and would really like to hear from anyone owning or looking at one of these trailers. We're more interested in the 2882S but might consider the smaller 2881S.

2881S
We have just looked at a 2881S this past weekend near Tucson. We were pretty impressed with the way it looked. One thing that I don't understand is why did they not contour the front of the trailer? It seems pretty flat all the way across the front which is not a good thing for those of us using a short bed, no slider truck. The new trucks are built so tall that I had to pull out the slider from ours to get even close to being level with the trailer. They do offer the Lippert Turning Point hitch but I have not heard a lot of good things about it. In fact, I am not sure I understand it or how it works.
Back to the trailer, we do like the interior and it seems to be built fairly well. There are only two of us so it has plenty of room and we do like the seating where the theater seating is actually across from the TV and there even is a fireplace there. One other thing I don't understand is, is the use of a plastic toilet instead of using a porcelain toilet. It just seems to make it cheap to me.
They use basic window coverings throughout the trailer which will work. Fabric on the seats looks to be fine.
Just some thoughts.

I'm surprised they cheaped out using plastic toilets.
If you're interested in hearing more about the turning point hitch, this YT video is short but kind of explains it.

We just opted to upgrade from a 2506s Mini Lite to a 2021 2883WS Ultra Lite and we are very pleased. We had narrowed it down to the 2882 and the 2883 but could not find a 2882 in stock. We ended up with the 2883WS which also came with Residential Frig, Solar Panels with 1000 watt inverter and auto levelers. We could not be happier!

Hi, this year we purchased a WS2650 and are enjoying it.
It’s not a big rig, I think it’s the shortest 5er Rockwood floorplan, around 30’.
Plenty of room for 2. It has the kitchen table and chairs, couch opposite, and fireplace. The fireplace leaves a lot to be desired as a heater but oh well. Several fancy type features that we enjoy: ceiling fan (never had one of those in any TT) slide toppers, 2nd AC unit, covered power vents, tank heaters.
This is our first 5er so there is a learning curve to towing and hitching but overall pretty easy.
We have the Lippert Turning Point. Do your homework. Get the correct wedge for your hitch (universal means no size fits any) and get the right hitch, not all hitches are compatible with rotational pin boxes.
Do not expect the dealer to know!

I see from your signature that you’re back to the Rockwood family and you ended up going with the Signature 8291RK. Congrats! Ours is the previous generation to your floorplan, the 8290BS. Rockwood has added some really nice features recently.

Yes, we-unfortunately for our bank account-went out to a couple of dealers JUST TO LOOK in mid October at Rockwood 5er's and other 5ers. Saw the 8291 on a dealers lot. Really liked it, it's colour scheme, wood option-American Maple and it had a lot of upgrades we wanted, but didn't want to buy in 2020. So we struck a compromise. Buy in 2020, pick up in 2021 for warranty reasons. No sense in having it sit in snow covered storage lot for 6 months.
I looked online at your 8290 layout itat, nice, an even more open kitchen area. Not sure I wouldn't have picked the 8290 had I looked at it at the same time. I guess we'll never know lol
