Thinking about up grading from my mini lite trailer to a Rock fifth-wheel. I know the fifth wheel fireplaces are electric so you need to be plugged in to shore power to operate it. When dry camping can you turn on the l.e.d. flame without the heat for just the visual effect?
Yes.
And the flame has multiple levels of brightness.

I'm not an expert. But I play one on the internet.

Mine won't light up if I'm not plugged in to shore power. I think you'll need an inverter (I don't have one) even if you just want to see the flames. You shouldn't need a very high wattage inverter if you don't turn the heat on.

I am sure it will work with a small inverter as the lights are LED and the motor is like a clock motor, sure the power draw is minimal. Had to take mine apart to fix a squeak, it is just a row of LED's shining on a rod wrapped with foil. The heater is a separate assembly on the top.
