Rockwood Mini Lite 1902: A couple of questions

Good evening!

We've purchased a 2018 Rockwood Mini Lite 1902. It's our first camper as we are pretty tickled about it. We've managed to de-winterize it and last weekend took it out on our first run to see what we could do. We ended up getting a new battery ("The battery seems fine," said the owner) which cleared up a number of problems.

A couple of questions for the group:
- we've not filled the hot water heater because the anode rod is pretty broken down. Is there universal size for these or are they specific to each model?

- we've been into the owner's manual and have not found this yet: which fuse controls the 110w outlets? None of them worked for us!

Otherwise, it got down to 34 degrees and the furnace worked. We were able to cook both on the fire and in the camper itself. And, of course, there's always the first time at the dump station!

Thanks for listening to me ramble. Any advice you can give for us would be great!

Enjoy the rest of the night,

Darin

What brand is it? Suburban heaters are porcelain-lined steel and require an anode. Sizes, AFAIK, are standard. You just need to decide on an aluminum rod or a magnesium rod.

Atwood heaters are aluminum and do not require an anode.

Were you plugged into shore power? 110w outlets only work when plugged in, a generator is running, or if you have an appropriate battery bank AND an inverter. Don't confuse the converter with an inverter,.

Fuses have nothing to do with 110v things since fuses are only for 12v DC items. 110v AC things have breakers.
The outlets will only work when hooked up to shore power or a generator. A whole house inverter could use 12v battery power to power the outlets buta 2018 Rockwood wouldn't have such a thing.
Suggest that you Google "the 12 Volt Side of Life". It's a good primer on the two different RV electrical systems.

Magnesium is common, but if you have bad water it can cause sulfur smell.

If you have problems with smelly water, you need the Zinc-Aluminum:

Here is tip for replacing your anode rod. Since they lond are "forward heavy", it can be difficult getting the rods on a level plane and the threads started in the hole evenly.
I use a deep socket and stuff a piece of shop towel in the socket so that the bolt end of the rod is near the outside end of the socket. This way, the rod can be placed in the hole on an even plane and the whole process is much simpler. Congrats and good luck!

And there it is! We thought 110v was just 100v. Thank you for the search suggestion AND for educating two people who are in over their heads!
