Rockwood roo 23rs towing

I have a 2008 Jeep liberty with a 5000 lb tow limit and 500 lb hitch limit. I am thinking of getting the Rockwood Roo 23 rs. Am I pushing the limit as far a weight with this trailer and tow vehicle?

The GVWR of that trailer is 6145lbs so yes, you are pushing it.

Btw, that is a nice lay-out.

RVW says GVWR is 6061lbs which is still well over your towing capacity.

Quote:
Always apply the rule of 80. Never tow more than 80% of your tow vehicle's rated tow capacity. The tow capacity is figured with 1 single adult weighing 250 lbs.

X3 - like the Ladies said - you would be well over your tow limits so to get that trailer you would need a bigger tow vehicle or a smaller trailer

I tried pulling a Roo 19 with our Liberty and didn't feel comfortable at all. I upgraded the tow vehicle and now it is nice not worrying about every little thing that we put in the camper and the safety of everyone out on the road.

Looking past the weight concerns the length of the tow vehicle would likely be under suggested limits as well for a trailer of that length.

That trailer will weigh nearly 4300lbs, before you add battery, water, propane and cargo.
And that's not even addressing the Liberty's short wheelbase.

So, no, too much trailer.
