Rockwood slide maintenance

I am getting my rig ready for camping. I have a large slide that has the two rails underneath that each run on a gear. What do I use to lubricate or maintain the slide running mechanisms. I have used spray on the rails and am asking if I should put some lithium grease on the gears.

I'd avoid any grease as it will trap any road grit in it and possibly impair operation.

I use a lube labeled specifically for slide mechanisms. A "dry lube". Lots of these on the market and when my can runs out i'll just go with a generic. I give my slide mechanism a spray coating about twice per year.

Can't say it's magic but I haven't had a single hesitation or chatter in 3 years since i brought trailer home.

Actually the spray Lithium grease does not attract dirt. It is as white as it was the day I sprayed it on. To me it works better than the silicone spray as I have tried that too. The biggest issue with this type of slide drive system is getting it adjusted correctly so it does not bind.

This is the dry lube protectant I use twice a year on my slide-out gears, gear teeth and rails. Do not use grease.

Thanks to all replies

Thank you all. I have been using dry lube, but every time I crawl under the slide and look at the gears, I think I should do something else to keep them running well. I will just keep up with the dry lube.

There is some youtube help on that. Not all that needs lube is visible without pulling the weather seal open a bit with slide extended.
