rockwood v nose 2618vs front door hits awning arm

We have purchased a v nose 2618vs in January. and just realized the front door will hit the awning arm when it is open .I was curious to see what other people with this model did to prevent the front door from hitting the awning arm when it is open. I have not called the dealer yet. From what I have been reading here , it seems to be quicker and easier to solve your own problems .Thank you .

I saw some video's of the camper on line , and saw the gas strut on one of them. Our camper has no gas strut on the door . I looked at the inside of the door ,and it looks like the screen will get in the way of installing a gas strut . Maybe put an eye on the outside of the door and a long hook to hold it ?

Gas strut here is on outside, so no screen door problem....They make long holders like what your talk'n about, and maybe a short piece of a pool noodle as a cushion

Thank you for the info. The strut makes more sense, as a hook would probably just flap around in the wind while driving down the road . We are looking forward to camping this year. Like the front kitchen layout, and the floor plan in general. Thanks again.

We have a 2015 2618VS, and the door has never touched the awning. It comes very close, but does not touch.I know that doesn't help you out, but have you actually fully opened the door with the awning out?

I have seen a device that mounts on the corner of the door and has a ball on it that will contact the awning before the door would. You might try that if it does actually touch.

We have a Windjammer and what I do is attach a bungee cord from the door to the awning arm so that the thing on the bottom of the door that
Keeps the door open won't pop out

Door hitting awning

Simple you bought new in January. Has warranty no brainer, why would you try different fixes. I could see if out of warranty. But let dealer resolve the issue. I wouldn't think dealer intend for the awning to hit top of door. Looks to me needs some adjustments. Hope this helps

The dw and I purchased a new 2017 2618 vs last year...ours has a gas shock mounted on the bottom of the door jam and the bottom of the door, does not interfere with the screen door operation and does not allow it to hit the awing rails.....would like to talk to you and other 2618 owners on ideas .....please leave a message thank you
