Safety chain issue

Has anyone had issues with their safety chains rubbing with the stabalizer control bars? I have the Equalizer hitch on our rig and I noticed that the hitch itself is hitting the chain and causing it to almost breaknoff.

Thoughts??

Yikes, that sure doesn’t look good. Not familiar with that hitch. Seems it’s rubbing on the chains as you turn a hard right or left (wear marks out on the end of the hitch). Have not had that issue with my e2 round bar hitch but I’m sure going to double check after seeing this.
Smart folks on here. I’m sure someone will have an answer for you.

Ok. I'm not certain what those pictures show.
One end of the chains disappear and I'm assuming that those are attached to the trailer?
The other end should be attached to the tow vehicle, or am I looking at that backward?

What you are seeing is where the safety chain connects at the tongue of my camper. The other end is fastened to the hitch of my vehicle

Def a bunch of smart folks on here. Have read a bunch and solved several problems from this forum.

Could you change to a hitch ball with a longer shank? That would give you more clearance where you are having that interference. I bet 1/2" taller would do it.

And right now, those are the "unsafest" looking safety chains I have ever seen!

Take it to a welding shop and have the safety chains moved back so you can still cross the chains.

I had the same issue with my GreyWolf. I switched from the equalizer hitch to the husky centerline TS. The head is not as big and do not break the chains. I could not even do a 30 degree turn without it breaking chains

I used these when they were close to breaking in two.

I'm confused. Do these trailers only have one attachment point for the safety chains? That certainly doesn't seem safe. Ours had two attachment points to distribute the load.

My trailer has both chains attached to a welded ring just in front of the jack. It's a 2020 Flagstaff 21DS.

I have to admit that i chuckled a little when going through the PDI and the tech very earnestly warned me to ensure that the chains were crossed when connecting to my truck.
