Screen door...

My sisters new rockwood has a screen door with a handle on the inside and outside. My new 2604ws does not and I really like that! Any way I can add an inside handle to mine (my door slide is a screen not a plastic slider) or get a different door (didn't see any online)?
Thanks!

What do you mean by "handle"? Is it different from the latch handle you have? I'm assuming you have a push down handle on the outside and a push in handle on the inside, correct?

There is no handle on the inside, that is the problem, you have to slide the little square screen over to push the handle down on the outside to open it. I hate this design.

Won't work, as I already stated, the slider is a screen not a plastic slider :-(

This is what I did to mine. I think you could do this also with a 1 1/4" piece of 1/8" x 3/4" angle aluminum from the hardware home center. Put two holes in it like shown. On 1 tap the holes 8-32, on the other side drill clearance holes. Drill the screen door with clearance holes and loctite and jamb nut the screws after you cut the excess thread. 8-38 x 1 1/2 pan head should give you enough thread to get it done. I made these one day from ABS when I had a few hours to kill. They don't interfere with any of the latch mechanisms in any positions

Jeff64, kind of hard to tell from the picture. Is it just a pull handle? How does it work?
Thanks!

You could modify screen by adding a plastic support for the handle......

Don't know of any screen door that will allow you to open the main door without moving the slide panel to get to the main door latch.

It's an L shaped pull handle. One on each side of the sliding portion of the screen door. When the slide is all the way open it limits further rear (opening)travel and stands proud of the screen door by about .250" so the sliding portion doesnt disappear in the track and you can grab it to close the slide if you are outside with the screen door assy closed. You can operate it from the inside as well so you don't have to grab that stock ring handle that rests flat against the plastic screen material. Its approx. 1 1/4" tall and stands out from either side of the slide/screen by about 3/4". (3/4 angle aluminum, 1/8" thickness)
Install: It butts up flush to the bottom portion of the aluminum slide frame and flush to the rearward portion of the vertical member of the slide and clears the "came" channel and screen on both sides. There is ample space between it and the door when both are closed(or opened )together. There is no interference with any door hardware.
Photo shown is in an almost closed position to show the screen slide is sandwiched between the knobs

I know exactly what you mean!! My 2016 mini lite screen door is the same way. I bought a plastic screen door slide and a screen door latch. I want to remove the sliding screen and put in the plastic one but I can not find out how to take the screen out without breaking it. I have not found any instructions how to do this. Does anyone have instructions?
