Screws piercing the outer skin of my TT!!!

It’s been approximately a month since I got my new 2018 Rockwood mini lite 2509S! We installed the towel rack with the screws provided from Forest River in our bathroom and evidently the screws are way too long because they have now pierced the outer skin on the side of our trailer! I know the proper way to fix it would be to reskin it! But that is not a financial option at this time! Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions of what I can do to prevent moisture from getting in let alone the outer skin finish from peeling in this area? I am here in the Midwest and right now it is extremely semi-cold to cold especially at night! Have not even had it on its maiden voyage yet and we are waiting for spring to do that! I greatly appreciate any and all ideas and suggestions! Many thanks in advance! Click image for larger version

If the screws we're in the package provided by Forest River I would contact them. It was an honest mistake and they may work with you. Most folks on here that have worked with the warranty Dept. have had good things to say.

I did this once in my old unit - siliconed it and after 8 years it was still water tight, until Irma took it

Some folks have siliconed it, put a "decorative decal" over it and moved on.

Squirt silicone in there and move on. Not worth the hassle.

Thank you and I semi agree with you! Just breaks our hearts that we went through some hell to get this to make our lives more enjoyable! And being brand new not yet gone on its maiden voyage! It’s just so disheartening! But I am old enough and wise enough to know it’s spilt milk and I just need to repair the best I can and move on!

Yes they do! Check out the caulk area of Home Depot and Lowes by the paint department and you will find all kinds of colors...including almond.

Kind of like the first scratch on your new car. Ticks you off, but not really the end of the world 5 years from now.

So true so true! And that’s another reason why I’m not blowing my gaskets! Thank you for the commonsense approach an answer! I greatly appreciate it!

Stlramper,I will give you the same advice I give to others and what I did myself! Epoxy the small area, and smooth it out! Now buy a "Great Seal of the State of Missouri",they are very Colorful and come in many sizes! Now you will be Proud to explain the Seal/Decal,no need to tell the story "Behind It"! Youroo!!

Did the same thing on a previous unit while installing a shower curtain rod extender. Luckily it was on the back of the unit and a perfect place to stick a red reflector that matched the installed clearance lights.
