Should we order Rockwood 2608BS custom build in November?
We are thinking of trading in our 2503S Mini Lite for 6208BS model. Have shopped around to get idea of prices and seems best prices are dealers closest to FR factory in Indiana or Michigan. No dealer stock for unit we want, so it needs to be custom build. Told it takes 2-3 months delivery time. We are in NY, we don’t mind making a trip there, but just worried dealer will pressure us to finalize payment if unit comes in during winter. We want to do a thorough PDI before finalizing, camp nearby for few days but our RV is not all-weather, besides the danger of icy snowy weather driving. Wondering if others have had any dealers willing to wait (if yes, which ones are more willing?)
Or, Should we just wait til December/January to place order to have it arrive early spring?

I would think waiting would be the best option why take delivery of a new rig you wouldn't be able to use for months?

Wait and either order one in January of February, or hit a couple of RV shows that are often held during those dreary winter months. Maybe a dealer will have ordered the unit you want for a show, and you can buy it right there "on the floor." Typically, if you buy this way, the dealer will take it back to his business and store it until it is reasonable to pick up in the spring.

That definitely sounds like an option we hadn’t thought of. Trying to get decent price..so maybe that would work??

We found and bought our 2606ws at Wana rv. We got a great deal. They have a 2608bs in stock. You have to call but it will be less than $29000. They are no pressure and wonderful to deal with. Give them a call. We traveled from Wisconsin to save over $4000.

We ordered our Mini Lite on Feb 28, 2015. It came in the 3rd week of May, about 12 weeks. But they build them in groups, so you never really know when it may arrive; could be early or late. So I'd say if weather is an issue for you, don't order until Feb/March.
Another thought: A unit that size will most like be towed to the dealer, so if it were me, I'd like that to be after the salt has been rained off the roads.

I too purchased a 2018 2504s Mini Lite from Wana Rv. Drove from Anaheim Ca to pick it up. They are a great dealer. Would make the trip again if I decide to purchase another TT.

We purchased our 2608BSD from Wana RV and the price was great. The whole experience was top notch. Will consider them again. When we bought ours they had the next lower dealer beat by over $5000 and being right around the corner from the factory there was no delivery charges. Have contacted them since for information and they treated us like we were still in the buyer stage. Taking care of customers before, during and after.
