Smile Slide maintenance

Hello fellow campers! We just purchased our first camper with a slide! (Rockwood Signature Ultra Lite Model 2701ss). I am so excited! Looking for maintenance tips as we have never dealt with this before. What needs to be done to the slide mechanism, seals, etc? Thanks in advance for sharing your wisdom!!

Hope everyone has awesome plans for the upcoming Labor Day Weekend. It will be our first trip in our new camper!

There is a dry lubricant in a spray can made specifically for slide rails. Seals can be wiped with silicon spray.

Spray dry lube for the rail or gear system.
303 protectant for the rubber seals and wipers. Best stuff around, hands down. Just a quick spray once a month, inside and out and you'll be good to go.
A bit expensive, but you get what you pay for. Amazon has cheapest price , and I think Wal Mart has it online.

Just picked up another bottle from Amazon. 32oz sprayer for $19. Best stuff around for rubber. My car Detailer turned me on to this stuff a few years ago.

I've found it's cheaper to buy a gallon from Amazon, and use an old sprayer. I use it for just about everything on the Lexi and our two Subie's. Tires, rubber seals, vinyl, all get 303.
4 quart sprayers run almost 80 bucks, a gallon runs about 55 bucks.

Thanks so much for the tip. I will definitely purchase this product, and will check on Amazon. (I love Amazon!)

Does the 303 help with sticky slide seals, I put new seals on and slide seems to move a bit slower put powder on them and it seemed to help but washes off with first rain.

Hi- In slide maintenance, I'd add checking the tightness of the four nuts holding the tracks underneath to the slide itself. We have a 2012 Ultralite (8289 FW) and just came back from a 5500 mile trip out west with all kinds of road conditions. I noticed one seal was starting to rip and the slides had shifted back about 3/4 ". On one slide one bolt was missing and the other three were loose. Not good! I could only find one other post here about that situation but the fix sounds doable.(With slide extended and supported, tap the gear assembly back to where it was and retighten nuts.)

Also the plywood bottom of both slides are scraping on something but I haven't tried to find a solution to that yet. We love the fifth wheel and the floor plan but are questioning the fitness of Ultralites for long road trips with it. We've also had two tires blow out and switched from C to E rated tires. No problems since.

While at the Goshen rally, Lippert performed maintenance on my slide rails and recommended to use CRC power lube and not to use a silicone based spray as it attracts dirt. This is what I will use in the future.
