sliding bathroom door
The sliding 'pocket' door in my 8329ss is also used in a whole lot of different campers, so maybe someone has a tip for me. Apparently, coming home from Goshen we had to cross the "Illinois Suspension Proving Grounds" (AKA I-255 outside St. Louis). I guess at some point, it caused my door to 'detach' off the sliders in the upper rail. No worries... There are small latches that resemble the locks on older windows.
But I for the life of me cannot get the little post on the door to engage the latch. In all my struggles, I managed to detach the other side too, so now I have 2 latches to do up, and I can't even figure out how to do one.
Never mind that the wood trim 'valance' for the door makes it impossible to get a finger up to the latch to lock it. I tried with a screwdriver, but so far I am batting 0.000.
Anyone ever have to deal with this?

I've been trying to figure out how to adjust mine so it's vertical. There is not much room to fiddle in this thing.

I had the same problem with the bunkhouse sliding door on a 83277ss. Remove the wood valance that is only held in place with brad nails to give you access. Use a pair of lineman pliers to clip off the projecting nail (do not try to pull thru or nail out as it will chip out the finish on the front side of the valance). Now that you can see, open the gate on the lock for the tram, put door back and using that pair of pliers bend the two open bars closed. this will prevent it from slipping off the bolt head. If you do not have access to a compressor and brad nailer, pre drill your holes and use a finish head screw to re install the valance and cover the small hole with an oil based pre-mixed color matched putty. You can buy this in a hardwood flooring supply store.

thanks. this procedure worked out very well, with one modification...
My brads all pulled out with the wood valance. I just used them to tack the wood back up where it goes. Mine had a bead of brown caulk on the top of the door. I used a razor blade to cut it free from the ceiling.
Once I had the door re-attached, I put the valance back up and you would never know it was down. one thing is for certain. If the rest of the camper is built like that little wood valance was, this thing should last me the rest of my life. It was quite a chore getting it to come loose.
thanks all, I'm glad it was a simple fix.
