Stabilizer jacks / electric
I wanted to get some people's thoughts on whether or not to leave the stabilizer jacks down during the winter. Since they are electric would it hurt them to leave them down?

Red, personally i leave them up unless required for camping/loading. With the heavy frost and heaving of the ground were I live I could see them getting bent or causing frame issues.

Neighbor bent his leaving them down in the winter. Suspect the ground heaving with frost.

I've always left them down and never had a problem.

I was told if there hydraulic ones not to just leave em down but to at least cycle them up/down every month or so.as the jack shaft might start pitting not getting lubed by and occasional cycling

Leave them UP.
Simple reason- If they fail for any reason at least they are up not interfering with traveling.
Fail safe mode.
Happy trails,

I leave them up in case I want to leave in a hurry and they are frozen to the ground or buried in snow.

If you leave them down and have a flat tire, all the weight is on the jacks. I leave mine up.

I leave all 3 sets down, see the trailer every day so I'm not worried about a flat tire, besides, I have GY Marathons and have never had one go flat in over 35 yrs other than the one high pressure stem loosing air coming back from Goshen last year. Trailer is stored on concrete drive in front of our garage when not camping.

Up - what's the point in using stabilizers when it's in storage for the winter? I just make sure the tires are on blocks (wood/plastic - your choice) and chocked.

I leave mine up when not camping, it really doesn't bother me if the trailer moves a little when I'm not in it.
