Thermostat

Is it possible to change the thermostat in a Windjammer 3008 / to a digital thermostat? And what would be involved with doing it?

Which thermostat do you have now?

If it's a Dometic Single Zone then you can't change it without considerable expense. You have to change it and the control box in the A/C and you have to pull new thermostat wiring.

Which thermostat do you have? If it is the Coleman Mach analog with the slide bar to set temps, then yes it can be easily replaced. I replaced mine by ordering the Coleman Mach digital model that looks almost identical. Unscrew the stat from the wall. Remove the old and wire in the new - it is a wire for wire replacement. I moved one wire at a time to make sure I matched them correctly. Attach the new stat to the wall. Note that the screw holes for the two stats are not identical.
New digital stat keeps temps in a narrower range, well worth the cost and effort.

Not exactly sure but it has a slider on it for temperature instead of a digital readout

Could you post a picture of it? You could have an answer to what you have and what you need to do most likely in minutes.

I got mine from RVUpgradestore.com which had the lowest price at the time. I'd do a search to see where it's available now.
Coleman Mach 8330-3862 Air Conditioner Thermostat, Single Stage, Heat/Cool Digital, Black $52.28

My original stat looked kind of like this except it was black.

A domestic old style slider analog thermostat can be changed out with a Honeywell digital from Home Depot for less than $30. The only draw back, you will loose the ability to change fan speed.

I have changed the thermostat in our last 2 trailers with the exact one SailorSam indicated. Was quick and easy. I bought ours both times on Amazon.

Here's a wiring diagram for changing out a Coleman-Mach for a Honeywell (should work for most other brands, too).

But if you go with the Coleman-Mach digital that Sailor Sam shows, it's a wire-for-wire replacement AND it will do the 2 speed fan automatically. If you go with the Honeywell or other brand, you'll need to install a switch for fan speed or just pick one and live with a single fan speed.

I paid about $25 for my Honeywell. The C-M digital runs $45 and up depending on where you buy it.

Good luck.

Then it's a very simple swap, in my case the holes even lined up to just screw the new thermostat right back in the same holes.

There is more than one Coleman Mach thermostat out there. My previous trailer was a 1 for 1 swap of wires. My 2019 trailer may have a cable with a quick disconnect, with a significantly higher price. I need to pull it off the wall to make sure I get the right one.

Installed the new thermostat today the furnace runs can't plug into Shore power right now so don't know if the fan in the air conditioner runs or not hope so. But if the furnace works I must have got it hooked in right
