an alternative to covering the tires? not sure what you are asking about the tires...

Park in the shade? I would rather cover the tires... Harbor Freight sells a cheap set of covers... my covers have lasted two years, but will need replacing soon.

what I take is a tarp and cut it down to the size of the area needed. Use the silver side of the tarp to the outside to reflect and put bricks on top of the tires to hold the tarp.

I bought a set of four canvas covers from WalMart for around $30 which have just gone through their forth winter and are still in great shape. BTW Bought an AC cover at the same time and it also still looks great.

I bought a set of 4 white covers from Walmart online for 30-35 bucks in 2014 still look nice IMO.

If you go this way you will need the tires diameter to get the right size.
