Toilet seat replacement option?

I have a 2018 Forest River Rockwood 2706ws. It has the dometic toilet, which I like from a functional standpoint, but the plastic seat if so flimsy. Has anyone replaced the toilet seat with something more sturdy?

I haven't replaced my toilet seat in my Vengeance but I would like one that doesn't creak so much.

Just go to Lowes, HD or Walmart and get a good quality replacement. Make sure you take some measurements front to back and side to side before you go. They come in different shapes.

If it's a Dometic 300, you're out of luck on a drop-in seat. Here's a guy who put some 5/8" hose pieces under the seat to stop the squeaking:

http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...at-131782.html

Here's a guy who installed a commercial seat, but he had to do some modifying to make it fit:

Option 3 is replace it with a Model 320; a number of folks have done this.

Good luck.

Where would we locate the model number for the toilet?

I'm not sure; never looked for it on mine. If you go on Dometic's website, you can probably figure out which one you have by sight.

Typically on a Dometic toilet there is a sticker under the water valve with model number and serial number along with bar codes.

We replaced ours in our brand new 2019 Rockwood 2606WS with a china toilet from Camper's World. Dometic. Just lovely, easy to clean, and no squeak! Feels nice and solid and reliable. Best improvement ever.

We did the same thing in our last TT also. Money well spent and it took all of fifteen minutes to swap it out. Gave our barely used plastic toilet to a friend's kids for their tt. Other great thing is it is handicap height, which is great for older knees.

Mine is a Dometic 310, sticker near the rear on the side. I ordered the soft close replacement from Amazon, but it was the wrong color (my fault), then ordered it from Camping World on line.

It looks like mine is a 300 model, so I'm out of luck for a replacement top. Looks like I have to replace the whole toilet with a 310 model.

I did and all the ones that popped up were for 310 models and higher if you read the info in the links. I found a few guides on how to switch it out but honestly more work than it's worth to me.

toilet seat replace

I had a model 300 with the plastic seat. I added some gorilla tape to the under side where the seat sits on the bowl and that helped a lot. But I still did not like the flimsy plastic seat and no easy way to replace it. So, I just replaced the model 300 with a model 320 that came with a spray wand and residential style wood seat. Very much worth the cost. Dometic has a diagram on the web site so you can check that the new one will fit as the model 320 is a bit larger. Make sure to check that it will fit before you order.

First time I've ever had a creeky toilet seat.

Put it on the needed warranty corrections list - will demand that FR correct.

Why would they furnish such a piece of crap on the crapper?

The aforementioned mod of adding the wooden seat to the 300 is my mod. It really isn't that hard and what do you have to lose?

noisy toilet lid fix

For a noisy toilet seat I slit small plastic tubing the long way installed it and taped it on with white elec. tape. Solid now and cheap fix. My son just out elec. tape on his and it works.

replacement

The FIRST thing we did to our 2018 Sunseeker was replace the stock plastic thetford - hated that piece of S***. (pun intended). We replaced it with a Dometic High Profile 320 Series Gravity Discharge Toilets - White
Catalog Item # 69991 from Camping World - 1000% improvement... feels like a real toilet instead of a portapotty
