Tongue jack Foot question

Wondering why I see so many campers with the tongue jack foot removed when parked and leveled? Is it preferred to just use the round tube of the jack without the foot on? Only benefit i could think of is to allow the tube to "dig" into the wood blocks under the jack so it can't slide.

I leave mine on because it comes up nice and high. I think people take it off to get ground clearance when towing and then just leave it off and drop it down on a thick of wood. No taking the foot off and on. I did that on another trailer. My 2104 the jack with the foot comes up nice and high so I leave it on.

None of our trailers have come with a tongue jack foot. So I always just use a board under it. Did not see the need to buy one.

I take mine off during towing. My hitch prevents me from fully retracting the jack if the foot is on. Also under a couple of unusual circumstances, the WD bars also get in the way of raising and lowering the jack, once most of the way down, it isn't a problem, so it is always on when parked.

Used to leave my jack foot on the trailer while towing until I lost it last year on a trip. Now I take it off now because they are not cheap.

Flip jack foot

It stays on permanently and tucks out of the way it it's all the way up. I've had one for a year and love it - no more hauling around wood blocks for the tongue jack.

Ok , well thank you all for the replies. I really didn't know if there was a particular reason for it and now I know. Funny you should mention the flip jack because I bought one over the winter to put on once it gets warm and I totally forgot that I bought it

So is it a good idea to get one i was going to buy the one from amazon it extenses a foot more and it has a round bottoms ..Compare to the ones that is rectangler I figure the bigger the the bottom the more support
