Get either a Reese/ Drawtight dual cam hitch or Equalizer brand. Would not tow with anything else. Also Prodogy brake control unless you have factory unit.
Did not mention Hensley as they are overkill.
Ps nice Rockwood model you are getting. We would have bought same model if I had not stumbled upon 5th wheel deal of the year.
Enjoy

I agree with dezolen, I tow a 2006 8314ss with either a 1997 GMC Suburban 3/4 ton with the 5.7 engine and a 4:10 rear...and a 2008 Chevy heavy duty 1/2 ton pick up with a 6.0 gas engine, 4 speed heavy duty trans and a 4:10 rear. I use the same hitch set up, The Reese duel cam weight distribution and sway system, I fell it is the best on the market so far.

Here is a pic of my Reese hitch system. 2008 heavy duty pick up with a 10,500 lbs max tow, 660 lbs tongue weight and the TT is 7,940 lbs fully loaded. The spring bar are 1,200 lbs with a 12,000 hitch. The spring bars have a V-5 Rating.

We had our first trip with our 8314BSS, everything went well We are trying out different thing like the entertainment center ,the bbq etc. The only problem was that we were dry camping and we had to switch over to the other propane tank . I know that they were filled by the dealer.I ran the furance at home for about one hour ,to burn out any oil in the burner , as directed by the dealer to get rid of any fumes . We heater our water and the fridge was on propane for two days cooked two meals on the bbq. other than that thing were great .No leaks as it rained very hard the first night . we love our new tt. talk soon Paul

Towing w/ Yukon XL Denali???

Anybody out there that tows with a Denali?
If so, what are the specs on your TV and your TT?
Not very happy with my Yukon XL (3.42 rear axle )
Dry weight on TT is 6600#

We have "pulled" the camper this summer around 2500 miles and feel that our planned trip to Florida in October will be too much for our TV.

Any suggestions?

Our trailering up here is pretty easy going, but wouldn't mind a little more muscle for the long haul without going to a 3/4 ton suburban.

???

We tow a 8315BSS with a 99 Tahoe without any problems. I believe your issue is with your 3.42 gears. You should have at minimum 3.73 gears. I friend of mine had his 3.42 gears replaced at a dealer for around $600. Cheaper than buying a new truck.
