Wolfe59,
I tow a 7000 pound, when loaded, Work and play, with a Ford F150 rated at 7200 pounds. I know it's there, but I know when I have a 700 pound utility trailer too. People that say "tows like it isn't there" in my opinion are asking for trouble. The specs on the trailer list a a gross weight of 6629 pounds. Your truck should do that. You'll be close to 6000 pounds with awning, propane, accessories. Leaves about 600 pounds for stuff. 40 gallons of fresh water will be 320 pounds and that leaves less than 300 pounds for food, clothes, chairs, cookware, etc.
Don't know hat your location is, tow slow, plan on terrible gas mileage, and not being able to run over 65, which is the speed rating on the trailer tires anyway. I get about 10 miles per gallon, with the 5.4 liter V8 automatic, on flat ground, less in the western mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee.
Good luck and enjoy.
