Real numbers for our 2614bs
Hello,
We have a 2020 Ultralite 2614bs. When loaded for a trip, the tt weighs just over 7800 lbs and has a tongue weight of just over 1100 lbs. I know this because I took it to a cat scale. We use a ProPride P3 hitch with 1400 lb bars. This eliminates ALL sway. I ran the truck trailer through the scale several times while I adjusted the weight distribution part of the hitch. I returned the fron axles to within 100 lbs of original wt.
Now comes the difficult part. Have you checked
- your payload numbers, yellow sticker inside of door
- your drive axle rating, white sticker inside of door
- your receiver rating, white sticker on receiver
- your tire rating, yellow sticker inside of door if your ties are original.
Our 2019 F250 handles the wt of our 2614bs safely and provides a very enjoyable driving experience. You need to check your numbers and decide for yourself if your truck is the right one. Did I mention that we ate $10k because Our new 2019 F150’s numbers were too low and we had to trade it in for the f250. In hind sight, we should of went straight to the F350 with 12400wt gvwr . But no one told us they were the same price. We know now and will go that route next time.
