True Trailer Height

I have a quick question on camper height. FR says my camper is 9' 6" tall. Is that with the AC unit or just to the top of the box? I'm getting ready to go get it tonight to clean it, but wondered if there is a standard expectation on measurements.

Any thought?

Unfortunately, it could be either. Are you just trying to figure out the velocity at which you'll hit the ground if you slip and fall off?

The best thing to do is get a 2x4, mount a level on it and then take it to a level spot and measure for yourself.

I just measured ours
9 feet at the roof edge
Exterior Height 10' 5" in the FR specs so that would include the A/C.
I'll bet yours is 9' 6" at the roof edge.

My Sunline was 9'6" (measured at the A/C unit) and, having said that, it was only 18" from frame to ground. FR says my 2604WS is 9'7".
I think the FR spec must be to roof's edge.
I'm calling my Rockwood's height 11' for purposes of bridge clearance, at least until I can get a true measurement.

You guys had me thinking, because I took my Roo under a 11'10" bridge. I had to think before I got there...how tall am I.

Don't go by the brochure. My brochure says I should be 11'4" w/o AC. I said, no way, because I used a 12' ladder to get on the roof, and was 2 rungs over. And, if that was the case, I should have hit the bridge and torn my AC unit off. I just went and measured ground to Roof at center to be 9'.

So, to answer it, measure measure measure. That is the only way of knowing for sure.

Just measured my 5er to the top of the cover on the skylight as that is the highest point and it is 12'2. Bought the program LowClearance Route 1 for Garmin and MS Streets and Trips 2013 and used 12'3" as the alert to warn me approx. 19 miles in advance. Hopefully this will keep me from customizing the roof of the 5er.
