TV replacement

A drop-in replacement for the FR-provided 39" insignia non-smart TV is a vizio D40F (E1, F1, G9) 40" class. $200.

We are staying at a park with no cable and pretty bad OTA reception but good internet. We noticed the little vizio D-series I put in the bedroom was doing a little less pixellating on the OTA channels and it was full of free TV apps including pluto.tv which isn't half bad.

So today we went up to Target and picked up a D40F-G9 and it dropped right in and the sound works correctly on the irv-3 dvd/stereo.

Watching internet TV now very happy with it.

Pluto.tv ain't bad. Their business model is you get commercials just like regular tv so no fees and no sign-up required.

Thanks for the info . Looking for a replacement for the horrible Furion TV that came with our rig. Biggest complaint is that you CANNOT program a universal remote for the TV and IRV system AND you cannot use Airplay from a macbook. The Vizio D series says it has Airplay capability and I assume a better remote?

Remote is so-so.

As for universal remotes, if you get the right one (like a logitech) you can program anything in it. The inexpensive ones you are depending on them putting the codes for your set in it.

Good to know! We really want Airplay option as well due to the fact that it seems like we use our phones as a hotspot to access Netflix etc instead of the usually horrible Wifi thats available. Planning to get a smart TV that supports Airplay and then a universal remote to control both TV and IRV sound system.
The Furion remote has like 100 buttons and not user friendly. Thx!
