I can't find the bar you use on the hitch when you connect the chain part and lift it up to secure it or visa versa. No idea what it is called or the dimensions. Any idea where I can get another??

Misplaced mine once and a 4 way lug wrench worked well until I found mine. Sorry I don't know the official name for the pipe. Local RV dealer?

It would help if you posted make and model of hitch.
Different brands use different bars.

Misplaced mine, so I got a piece of 3/4" metal conduit at Lowes. Cut it about 18" long, works great, and cheap.

Suggest a pc of 3/4" black pipe, it won't distort or bend as easy as conduit.

I used a 3/4" water pipe and screwed on a cap on one end.

That little sucker sure does hide well... mine loves to roll over against the side and disappear under the edge of the cargo access door. I swear I am going to put in some kind of bracket or holder for it on the front wall.

In case yours is not hiding there... ixnay on the conduit idea as you do want something a bit stronger. The galvanized 1/2" pipe is a much better idea and I like the cap on the end idea too as it make it much friendlier on the hands without the sharp edges.

I think cheater bar names it quite well too... in fact I would make a longer bar if I were rolling my own for more leverage.

Previous truck kept it in the rail mounted bed box on a shelf with easy access. Current truck has a floor mounted bed box so it goes in a storage well under the back seat which is always up anyway for the dogs. If you want to keep it in the storage compartment in the trailer wrap it with a couple pieces of Velcro and place corresponding pieces on the sidewall next to the door in a vertical position so it will be easy to find.

On all our previous travel trailers, I've installed a pc of 5/8" rebar or 1/2" emt to one of the bolts holding the tongue jack on and simply slide the break over bar on the rod or emt. Never lost one in over 30 yrs of using trailers with wdh.
They are always handy and right where you need them. I've seen some folks just mount a couple of broom holders to do the same thing.

A 3/4" black pipe or galvanized, 18" to 24" found at Lowes or Home Depot will work perfectly. Just make sure it's a piece of steel pipe not conduit for strength.

I found it!! I was in the compartment and rolled to the front under the door, I didnt see it. Thought I was going crazy as I remember putting it away.
