Ultra Light 2304DS

So I have not figured out why when FR decided to redesign the 2304S and make the 2304DS they changed it from being in the Mini Lite category to the Ultra Lite category. After all the 2304DS is 25'1" and the next biggest Ultra Lite is almost 5' longer.

Was it to boost it up into a higher price range? After all, you do get better standards and more choice of options. Our local dealer told us the 2304DS is approximately $2K more than the comparable sized Mini Lites. Now we really didn't get into a big money discussion as it was our first time looking in all the Mini Lites and the 2304DS Ultra Light.

I know from contacting a Rockwood rep at the factory that things have already changed for the 2017 line. I was told that the Sapphire and Emerald packages have been discontinued. They said most of the things they put into those packages are now standard in the UL's, like the slam-latch storage doors, the entry and 'scare' lights, and the night shades. So - are they raising the MSRP to include all those?

The factory rep I contacted told me they are currently working on the 2017 brochure and that it would not be ready until at least late September. I had a couple of Rockwood dealers we visited both tell me that they attend some sort of meeting in September to be informed about the 2017 changes etc.

So I'm wondering what other changes are coming down the pipes? I did inquire if Rockwood would be releasing any new models of trailers but he did not comment on that. I'm guessing I just have to be patient and wait. Maybe we should consider going on the Rockwood factory tour when we're at the FR Rally in Goshen next week and try and find out some of this.

We purchased a 2017 Rockwood Mini Lite 2506s with the Sapphire pkg in mid April of this year. Is it the ULs that you're talking about, or the MLs, too?

I'm not sure to be honest. I did specifically ask about the UL's, but seeing the ML's also have the option of the Sapphire package it may hold true for them also. Some of the options I inquired about were on the Emerald package which if I'm reading the brochure correctly are not an option for the Mini Lite's. Then again, maybe dealers have the ability to have those options added??

Well, we visited a dealer, wrote up an order for a 2017 2304DS with emerald package. So if all the things included in that package will now be included, why didn't our dealer know that? We haven't pulled the trigger yet...would have, but they don't want my beautiful 2014 23ikss

Maybe you should try another dealer? I know we want to trade in our Roo when we place our factory order. It's better if you can sell yourself but it doesn't work out time wise for us to sell ourselves what with all our planned camping trips.
About the packages, if it were me, I'd question them and tell them what you've heard and make them contact FR to find out all the details. I gather from what I've learned that dealers don't officially find out next years info til September.
