looks like our fridge isn't exactly like yours, but I do believe you'll find something similar to what I did, when I did this mod, ... we store our small fans in that area now, ... I love to convert unused space into usable space, makes trailer time much more enjoyable, ... happy trailering .....

Fella10, I was thinking about doing a similar mod. My understanding is that the rear empty area of the fridge serves as a vent space for air to flow upwards out of the fridge vent on the roof. Is that correct? I was going to seal off the back of that empty area above the fridge creating a channel so air could still flow upwards and out that roof vent. I assumed that if I left the entire area open or blocked the air flow in the back it would be bad news. Is that what you did? Hard to tell in the photo how far back that rear panel you installed is.

yes it is a vent channel to the roof, ... pic below shows what I first found, ... to the right, you can see the wires behind that piece, I removed it, and replaced it with the inner plywood pieces, ... doing that retained the vent, ...

Nice, nice job! Very professional. Don't mind doing mods like that if they come out looking like yours, but I won't do one if it looks hillbillyish. Can't wait to get home to see if I have that space above the fridge!
