wardrobe closet

Hi all - we have a rockwood 8293RKSS that has wardrobe closets on each side of the bed. Does anyone out there hate the "rod" (you really can't call it that) that they installed in these things? It's a metal piece with holes in it for hangers. I HATE it and DH will be replacing it before our next trip out, with a normal closet rod. I've been using the closet in the bathroom so I don't have to deal with it. I'm thinking a man designed this thing. No offense.....

I had thought of putting shelves in my side instead, but we'll need to use the bathroom closet for all of our cold weather gear, since we go camping in October.

Anyone else modify their wardrobe closet?

Are you selling the metal piece with holes? If so what is the length?

I have the regular type rods in the wardrobe closets which is ok until travel and every hanger is off the rod. I did buy some RV hangers from CW but I can't get those off the rod and on the bottom of the closet. It solves one problem but create another. If I were not so short it would be less of an issue.

Guess the grass is always greener on the other side...
