Water Filteration

We just bought a used 2006 Rockwood 2601 travel trailer and the water filter canister is missing. It is my understanding that Forest River uses Water-Pur systems. Can you purchase a canister only that is generic rather than buying direct from Water-Pur? Any response is appreciated.
Thanks,
Campergirl

Hard to say whether any other manufacturer has the same thread pattern or O-Ring so it won't leak. You could try the clear house filter canister that WalMart sells. Screw it on if it works fine if not you can always return it. You may be able to find one on eBay or just replace the whole thing with one from WalMart, Home Depot, or Lowes.

to FRF.

I would buy one off the rack in a store and replace it. You can use any type filter you want...you don't have to by Water Pur. I by replacement filters off ebay very cheap.

It takes a 10" WaterPur cartridge, CCI-10-Ca. Cost is about $35 including shipping. The WaterPur Company # is 330-547-4423. Very easy or like others suggested you can probably get it cheaper somewhere else. I took the easy way and picked up the phone.

You can usually get a complete filter top and bottom (canister) at Lowes or
Home Depot for $25.
Just look for whole house filters.
Someone here recently bought one that had a built on shut off
valve which might come in handy in the fall when your winterizing.
Mine doesn't have one but I don't care.....

Good luck and happy camping!!
