Water Pump

Quick question... I have a 08 8317 and just tried to run the water pump. The water lines are sucking air and the water just spits out. I opened the access panel and tried turning the valve that allows you to suck anti freeze for winterizing and it got worse. I noticed when I put my finger over the hole of the siphon hose it buids pressure and stops spitting. Is that hose suppose to be clamped/capped? If not what could be the issue? The dealer is no help and the trailer is on a seasonal site an hour away.

Sounds like you found the problem.
Cap that line and you're good to go.
If you have a valve that's supposed to shut the line, it might
be turned the wrong way???
Capping the line will make sure.

The winterizing valve handle should be at a 90º angle to the line when shut. If it sucks air when closed you can either cap it as KyDan suggests or replace the valve. I'd probably just cap it and be done with it.
