That question...

If the lever is open aren't you just sending antifreeze to the fresh water tank ?
That question has been posed before.

The answer seems to be:
  • Run water through the showerhead until it runs pink
  • Switch the WaterMiser for a very brief period (a couple of seconds)
This puts a tiny bit of potable antifreeze into the fresh water tank. It's not a perfect solution, but if you use the fresh water tank you are likely to give it the 12-hour Clorox soak in the spring which should pretty well flush it.

Typical soak is 1/4 cup Clorox for every 16 gallons. You would put in the Clorox, fill the fresh water tank, and use the pump to flush a bit of the solution through all the plumbing. Wait 12 hours, drain the tank and flush with fresh water.

We don’t have the “fancy shmancy” ShowerMizer feature. Never had it on any of our shower units.
I remember the ol’ days when if it wasn’t for gravity we might not have had any water out of the shower head at all.
Back in the day, before water pumps, the FW tank caps had a Schrader valve to use air pressure to pressurize the tank. Most folks carried a manual tire pump to accomplish this task.

When you turn the valve for the shower mizer, the water will flow into your freshwater tank. When the tube changes color, the water is hot, so turn the valve the other direction to get the water to flow through the shower head. When I winterized our trailer, I turned the turned the shower mizer valve on to get antifreeze to enter the pipes that go down into the freshwater tank, and, then pumped antifreeze through the shower head hose. (I remove the shower head and leave it off over winter.)
