Water Sitting in Drain of Shower

We noticed today that we can see water in the drain of our 2104S (2018) shower. We emptied the tanks, tried to add more shower water to see if it would overflow, but it just seems to remain at the same level. Is this normal?

I think what you're seeing is water in the P trap. If it's like ours, there is very little space under the shower pan so the P trap is immediately below the drain. It's perfectly normal.

If you have a removable panel on the front of your shower pan you can remove the panel and see how tight it is under there and why they did it that way.

Thank You

Thank you...that's a relief. We have to store it and we were afraid when we went back to pick it up something horrible might have happened.

The front panel on ours is held on with 4 or 6 screws. If you can remove yours you'll see what I'm describing and it'll make you more comfortable. It'll also confirm if yours is the same as ours.

When you winterize, make sure you pour anti-freeze in all the drains.

I noticed the same on my Windjammer 3029w and wondered also when first seeing it. Figured it was the trap after closer look.

The water in the trap is a correct observation.

If you take off that panel to do a look/see, observe how much flex you have in the shower pan around the drain. Mine was significant enough to take the time to correct it. Do a search on flex in shower pans for further info

You only need to winterize if it will get below 32°F overnight.

you will see the same thing in every drain in your house except the toilet. There it is built into the Vitreous China casting.

The water is the reason you do not smell the sewer gasses, both at home and in ur camper.

Thank you all for the clarifications. We aren't very handy people and don't know much about these things. This forum is filled with wonderful helpful people. Thanks again!

Just remember that if storing it in freezing temps, that standing water will have to be displaced with antifreeze.

While you are at it, add a little black-water tank solution in the shower and sink traps too.
