Water Storage Grey, Black, Fresh Water?

Hi,

I'm confuse to this spec. I got a geo pro 20bhs with the following spec:
Fresh Water Capacity 37 gals
Grey Water Capacity 30 gals
Black Water Capacity 30 gals

When I"m filling up the water do the fresh water fill full 37 gals? the Grey Water to 30 gals full? and black water to 30 gals full?

I'm still a bit confuse. can someone educate me on how this water work. Can someone give me an estimate on how much a 37 gals can shower how many people average?

Thank you

The 37 gallons of fresh water also includes 6 gallons in the WH. So the actual available amount would be 31 gallons.
Can't estimate since everyone showers differently, especially newbies who don't know how to conserve water in a RV.

At home, you only fill the fresh tank with tap water. While out camping, the Grey tank fills from the sinks and tub/shower. The Black tank fills from the toilet.

just so i understnad this clearly. I just need to the fresh tank to full.

when using the sink and tub/shower the water goes into the Grey tank for storage right? and the toilet goes to the black tank for storage?

at the end of camping I just need to flush those grey and black tank out.?

Am I understanding this correctly?

Yes dump the black first then the grey that helps clean out your hoses

Managing your tanks

Here are two articles that may help. My wife and I can both take showers without the 6 gallon water heater running out of hot water using the Navy shower technique.

I am also very anal about keeping my tanks clean to the point of installing a dump station at home where I park the trailer. Here is the cleaning method I use.

I hope this helps.

Fresh water is added and stored until used which will reduce the amount in the tank.
Grey and Black water are both collection tanks, gaining water, until disposed of at a dump station.

Empty black tank first then using the grey tank to flush out the hose so you don't have fecal matter remaining in the hose when stored.

Do you add the solution before or after dumping the tanks?

Another thing u can do is if u r not hook up to water.U can take a half of 55 gal plastic drum and a submerge pump..if you run out of water u can drive up to the water fill up the drum then back in and run a hose from trailer to the pump. Drop pump in water plug it in and walk away . Better dragging 100 ft of hose around

When you fill your FW tank make sure to fill the hot water tank also. Otherwise the first 6 gallons will go to fill the hot water tank and the fw tank will then be 6 gallons shy of full. You can fill the hot water tank by connecting the supply hose to the city water connection first. That will fill the whole water system without having to use the pump to fill it.

Once your camping season starts add the solution to your black tank before you start using the toilet so the solution can begin breaking down the solids while it is filling. Then after you dump the tank and flush it out if you have the black tank flush, put more solution along with 5 gallons of water in your holding tank so your ready for your next trip.

As a warning those who are new to RVing: Never, ever leave the black tank dump valve open if you are connected to a full hook-up site.

If you use the search function for any of the following you will find enough to keep reading for days.

sanitizing fresh water tank
black tank maintenance
gray water odor

Filling the freshwater tank presumes you are NOT going to an RV park that has what's called a "city water" hookup. If you are in a park with city water, you just need a clean fresh water hose to connect to the city water and the city water connector on the rig.
https://www.rvrepairclub.com/video/h...-inlet-007908/

But if you are boondocking or going to a campground that does not have city water, then you fill the fresh tank. This video is simplistic, but useful.
