Not meaning to hijack this thread but how many of you use a W/D hitch and which style?

I have been using a 12K Equalizer E-4 on my past two trailers and it worked great. Nothing to disconnect when backing up, etc. Very solid.
I just traded up to a fifth wheel trailer and will be listing the Equalizer for sale.

Have been using a 1000/10,000lbs 4pt Equal-i-zer for the past 14 years, on two different trailers.
Love its simplicity and ease of operation.

You can't hijack a thread you started! Guessing somebody redirected you! I have the Fastway e2 with 800lb trunnion bars. Happy with it, and at 350 bucks, price was right.

ProPride 3P with 1400 lb bars.

I find it very easy to use. Simple to adjust WD based on trailer loading. After learning a couple of tricks, very easy to hitch and un-hitch. Creates enough trailer separation from TV to allow me to drop my tailgate anytime I need to. Never had problems getting it "dialed in". For me, I checked wheel well heights before hitching up, put on the trailer, rolled up the WD bars until truck front wheel well had the appropriate measurement and headed out. Couldn't have been easier. Trailer has always been rock steady behind me, following the truck "like a little puppy".

That would be nice! I can only open my tailgate half way, the power tongue jack blocks it from going down further. At least I can get in there to to drop in tools, wood planks, etc.

Kris: Here's a thread that may help you. Guy turned his jack's head 90 degrees. Another option is a longer shank on your WDH (check Etrailer). There are some other threads on turning the head, but this one has a video.

Then there is always the expensive way too...a propride. It adds enough room to drop my tailgate completely.

X3. I have used both the Fastway and Equal-i-zer WDHs. Equal-i-zer 1K/10K lbs. has much better sway control on my Rockwood Mini Lite 2511S.

Bought the Anderson for our Minilite 1809S and it worked well. When we traded up to a Ultralite 2304S, it came with a Fastway E2 and I honestly can't tell the difference between the Anderson and Fastway when towing. Both are easy to hook up but I almost think the E2 is a little quicker.

Good question. I am wondering the same thing. I am picking up my 2104S tomorrow and wasn't going to use a w/d hitch. Considering I will have 600 pounds on the truck and 4000# towing the camper I was hoping I wouldn't need anything except for a 2 5/16 ball. I do have Timbrens so the truck will not sag. The rating for the payload is 1450 pounds, so I am really light. Since I have the eco diesel, the truck weighs just under 6000# so the trailer is really light compared to the truck.
From looking around it seems the most people have some sort of weight distribution hitch. I will know more on my way home traveling on the interstate. Opinions are appreciated.
Thanks,
Kirk

X4 but we have the 1000lb bars. The E2 has sway control built in so you don’t need additional sway bars.
