Ggimlick: Are you running your Suburban on both gas and electric? It will keep the water hotter a LITTLE bit longer and recover faster. Electric switch is on outside of the water heater.

Yes, we're running both gas and electric. The dealer made a point of showing me the switch and reset locations. The electric acted like it went into high temp override yesterday and shut down. I had to push the reset and it won’t actually reset until the water drops below 110 degrees.

I’ve always had 6-gal tanks so that didn’t concern me. We never ran out with our Atwood hot waters. I might have the dealer check it out before we head back to NC today.
