What do you guys think?
Some of you will remember when I bought my 2016 2604ws and the terrible issue I had right after driving it off the lot.
Please look up my post as a refresher.
I just finally found another exact model and was able to look underneath. It appears my trailer was built on the wrong chassis? Frame? FR told me it was just built without the lift, total bulls@@t!
The pictures below show you the difference. First one is mine = 5", second one is identical model = 6".
Mine was dragging on the tire, they fixed it by installing a lift on my trailer.
So question....is my trailer too heavy for what it was built on??
Do you think I have any recourse with FR??
Thanks!

Was the unit you were comparing your rig to the same build year? If not you may be comparing apples to oranges. Yours may be correct for your build year and they have corrected the problem on newer build years. The weight issue seems more of suspension then frame. I doubt you will get any traction with FR on this but good luck let the forum know what shakes out.

What you are measuring is not the frame.
That rectangular tube is simply a 'riser/filler' tube for the axles to mount on.
The actual frame rail is above that.
You have essentially the same thing as this new unit you have measured, now that yours has the lift kit installed. (maybe slightly more)

My 2013 Flagstaff 32IKBS came with 15" tires. The tire was 3/4" below the frame and it was rubbing the liner on bumps. After repeated attempts to get the dealer to give me some truth I took it to the rally in Goshen. The factory techs installed a 2 5/8" lift to solve the problem. They also changed out the damaged liner.
The Flagstaff/Rockwood plant manager explained that my unit was caught in a wheel size change from 14" to 15". He also said it should have had that lift installed before leaving the factory, and that my dealer could/should have been aware of the issue and solved it under warrantee. (I have never been back in that dealership again, it is in my town!)
We pulled that trailer another 25,000 miles with no issue from the lift kit, including a 17,300 mile trip to Alaska on the worst roads you can imagine.
Have them install the lift kit and your problem is solved.

The OP stated in the first post the lift kit has already been installed.
(also see their photo # 1)

Are the years identical between your trailer and the trailer you measured? There might be build spec discrepancies, tire size being the first and foremost, meaning the newer model may have different tires (bigger) requiring the larger lift.
What was the tire size on the new unit and what is the tire size on your unit, if yours has smaller tires you will most likely find similar clearance which means yours is in spec.
Either way this lift has no bearing on weight and load, it is just a lift for clearance, axles are what designates load capacity and in your other post someone else with your same unit said they have the same axels as you. Yours is built on the right chassis it just has a different size riser lift (probably due to tire size spec during build).

Even if it's the same year, FR makes design changes midstream. Unless it's build date was about the same time (or even better- earlier), FR could have changed that portion of the lift as a running change.

The 2 trailers are one year apart. Both trailers have 15" wheels. They put the lift on mine to fix the problem.
My concern is not the lift! My concern is if my trailer was built on a frame/chassis that was meant for a lighter trailer.
I guess time will tell

I think all Flagstaff and Rockwood frames are the same except for the length. They are made on fabricated I beams.

I'm not sure about the OP's particular unit but my Flagstaff does not have a fabricated I-beam. (two pieces of bent channel back to back) Mine has a mill rolled, structural steel beam.
Again, what the OP is measuring and has concerns about isn't the actual frame.
We really can't comment to the frame's structural integrity by looking at photos of something below the frame itself.

since you can see the frame are there many structural differences as in metal thickness
or bracing
may your frame is heavier?

I would say this is a non-issue, youve been using the TT this whole time, do you see any visual issues with the frame? If not, then I wouldnt worry about it....

X several
To the OP... you can't let this stuff eat you up. Just roll with it. Make your unit your own and own your unit...if you get the drift.
